Chiverton Park: Touring Pitches

General

  • Friendly Cornwall site in Three Burrows, with easy access from A30
  • A five-minute drive to St Agnes; 10 minutes to Perranporth beach
  • Gym and launderette on site; pubs and shops within 15 minutes' walk

You should be able to cram in lots of Cornwall’s top days out when staying at Chiverton Park, a rural spot in the little village of Three Burrows, about five miles from Truro. This central location, coupled with easy access to the A30, makes this a most handy spot for getting out to beaches, heritage trails and top attractions (both the Eden Project and Land’s End are about 40 minutes’ drive away, despite being at opposite ends of the county).

Or, if you prefer, you could elect to keep things very local – it’s a three-mile jaunt to the coastal village of St Agnes with its rockpools and family-friendly shallows, or five miles to the gorgeous Perranporth beach for surfing, sand dunes and general splashing. And of course, the two are linked with each other and many points beyond by walks on the South West Coast Path.

Whether you’ve chosen to roam far and wide or focus on the immediate surrounds, there’s a friendly base waiting for you back at Chiverton Park, where the friendly team keep a watchful eye over things to make sure all is going smoothly. Families, couples and dogs are all welcome on site, and there’s a good stack of facilities including showers, toilets, a washing-up area and a launderette with drying room. (And there’s also a gym, if the mood takes you…)

Another little bonus on the ‘handy location’ front? There are two pubs, a bakery and a well-stocked village shop within walking distance.

Toilets are very difficult to enter because of combination locks,so take your reading glasses, the touring pitch are overlooked on all 4 sides so no privacy, no dog wash as advertised, dog friendly but no dog walk or poo bins, its a very long down hill walk to the village shop,as no shop on site.

A nice quiet site with a friendly owner. The shower/toilet block was clean and modern enough with plenty of space.

    Disliked:

We knew beforehand that there wasn’t a play park for the children, but we only booked for 2 nights so it wasn’t a real issue. However there were signs up saying no ball games too, which meant that our children pretty much had nothing to do.

I’d recommend if the site is advertised as family friendly, that there is something there for children to do.

It felt more like an adults only site.
