Great place!! Early morning wake up call though
Upper Meadow Hay electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch (large, pet friendly)
Liked Well run site with very friendly staff, we spoke to a couple of gentleman working there almost daily and were knowledgeable and very nice, toilets and showers were always clean and tidy, wash up area could do with a bin though. Nice walks to the local Chimneys and mill. Chippy van visits once a week and the chips were good. Dog field is amazing, best ive seen on any campsite, its huge! It also has a tap and dog bowl and poo bin, our dog's were very happy here and the view and sunset from this field was spectacular. Based on this we would be very happy to visit again.
Disliked Very strange that the owner insisted on waking the campsite up at 7.15am twice during our 4 night stay, he would tip a box of glass bottles into the recycling bin with bottles in it causing a very loud crashing sound, we were annoyed at being denied a lie in while on our holidays, it was just bizarre and unnecessary.

Upper Meadow fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch (large, pet friendly)
Liked The toilets were spotless and well maintained
Disliked We have just come back from a week on this camp site and our overall view of this camp site, when we first come to the campsite we asked which way was best the face and there was no issue facing either way. So we set up with the nicer view of the trees and campsite. So come thursday the warden came to us and said we had to turn the windbreakers to the other side as there was someone coming onto the pitch next to us. So it was false no one actually came onto the pitch next to us and we were basically facing permanent caravans that were run down the place was half empty so we dont understand why we had to turn the windbreakers around. Then being woken up at 7am by the wardens emptying the glass bin during the week but come the weekend he chose to do it later because a couple more caravans had turned up. We feel this campsite was mainly for full time residents and seasonal people.

From the manager: We are sorry our site was not for you. We endeavour to ensure our customers have a relaxing break and our reviews clearly show this.
On arrival you did ask to face the opposite way to the way we requested. We did tell you at the time that you would have to reposition on Thursday as we had an arrival for the next pitch to you and your wind break would of been on their grass.
We would always ask customers if they have any issues to let us know.
