Exactly what we like in a site. No real frills but well…
Non-electric grass motorhome pitch
Liked Exactly what we like in a site. No real frills but well maintained and right on the coast path. Enjoyed a stroll into Cawsand via Mount Edgecumbe with the dogs. The owner, Dean, was an absolute gent. We’ll be back again for another staycation.
Nice basic, quiet site 😊
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Nice secluded spot, very quiet. Perfect place for an overnight stay if you enjoy wild camping. There is a toilet and a couple of bins and a water point, all you need really. Enjoyed hearing the owls in the trees above during the evening 😊 Would definitely stay again 😊
Basic site, great location, friendly owner.
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Lovely spot. Nice site, great location, near Cremyll ferry, and walking distance of a nice pub on the Coast Path. Very basic .The composting toilet was kept very clean. I'd certainly recommend it.
Great site. Clean toilets close walk to pub.
Non-electric grass motorhome pitch
Liked Love this place and will be returning in the future for sure. Great site clean toilet. Amazing history being the old fuel depot.
Easy walk to the pub and a stunning walk around the estuary.
Cute, basic site for a 'wild camping' feel, but with a toilet!
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Catching the ferry across the Mount Edgecumbe, then walking to the site.
The calm, peaceful feel of the site when we set up.
The cleanliness of toilet.
The fact that host had set up wood for campfire in the pit, ready for us when we arrived.
The coastal path which led to little harbour to look at Plymouth in the dark.
My son enjoyed exploring the outbuilding with graffiti art at night wit a torch.
A beautiful spot, ideally located for Mount Edcumbe
Non-electric grass motorhome pitch
Liked Quirky, peaceful, beautiful location and lots to see within walking distance
Disliked Only one toilet at present but understand there are plans to add to this
Quirky site, very relaxed, close to a pub, beautiful walking area.
Non-electric forest floor tent pitch
Liked Great site, small and quiet. Good location next to the estuary and Mount Edgcumbe.
Good for anyone who likes it rough sloping & fires pits next to tent
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Location within 10 mins of a pub
Disliked Sloping ground for most of the site no defined pitches wake up to van or tent within 3 feet of you. Part of the advertised woodland pitches are actually within 4 yards and there is a single saw dust plastic 50 gallon drum of a loo.
Overall a very disappointing site not really suitable for tents of vehicles for the majority of the small acre and half of grass. Paid for two nights stayed 1. £24 for a night not worth half that
Fantastic offgrid funky quirky wild camping.
Non-electric grass motorhome pitch
Liked The range of terrain, length of grass, mature trees, sunny spots, the old buildings and the grafitti art. The location next to the path to the riverside beaches, the pub, the foot ferry to Plymouth and the buses, not to mention close proximity to the country park too. The riverside location facing west gave us a lovely sunset to enjoy sitting on a blanket on the grass overlooking the river through the trees where the evening sun shone through. The fresh air smell of salty river, freshly cut grass and wild honeysuckle was beautiful and then moving to the communal firepit to keep warm for sunset was lovely. The compost toilet was so clean and plenty of paper, sawdust wood chippings and antibacterial waterless soap was great. There was also hand soap by the main water tap. A lovely mixture of woodland, open grass, old buildings. I liked the patches of stinging nettles and other wild plants left for the butterflies and other wild creatures to benefit.
Really enjoyed how tranquil the site was and within short walking distance…
