What customers say
Golden Lion Lakeside Camping is praised for its beautiful lakeside location and proximity to water activities. Guests highlight the welcoming and friendly staff at the onsite pub, The Golden Lion, which serves excellent food. The site is noted as small, quiet, and well-maintained, with flat pitches. However, several reviews mention that the toilet and shower facilities are dated and could benefit from an upgrade, with some finding them insufficient for the site's capacity. Access to facilities can be challenging in wet weather due to unlit grass pathways.

Liked Lovely site, behind the pub and next to Stithians Reservoir. Very friendly and welcoming hosts. Fantastic walks around the reservoir and area, ideal for the dogs or anyone who just enjoys walking. Very good food and beer in the pub.
Facilities on the site are good.
Great location in Cornwall between South and North coasts for exploring the county and it's mining history.

From the manager: Hi Edwin. It was nice to meet you both. We are currently waiting for the Toilets and Showers to be refurbished. We hope to see you both again and hopefully the works will be carried out by the next time you visit.
I wouldn’t go back unless I knew the toilets and showers were clean
Electric hardstanding and grass pitch
Liked The lake is wonderful
Disliked The most unclean facilities I’ve ever come across. The toilets we’re disgusting
Also the food in the pub didbt come for 40 minutes then I was told my choice wasn’t available. Apparently the kitchen had only just told them no fish. Not worth the price
Recommend to friends Visit again
From the manager: We can only apologise that you were not happy with your stay here. We did move you to another pitch which you requested. Unfortunately, we had run out of fish, we were more than happy to give you a large glass of wine. If you would like to email us, we can see what more we can do for you.
