Perranporth
Zest with decking

  • Quiet site with excellent views and good local walks
  • Pub/restaurant, village shop and play park within walking distance
  • A mile and a half from Perranporth beach
This peaceful Perranporth site is in properly prime position: it's set in spectacular Cornish countryside with first-rate views, and has easy access to Newquay and Truro as well as Perranporth. The nearest beach is a mere mile and a half away (walkable in about 30 minutes), and there's a pub/restaurant, garden centre and shop in Goonhavern, half a mile away along a lovely leafy bridleway (there's also a play park and football field up here for kids who need a bit of a run about). Reen Cross Campsite is a family-friendly park, welcoming families and couples only (and dogs, as long as they're well-behaved types and are kept on leads at all times while on site, ta). Pitches are large and well spaced out, on a flat camping field of around three acres, so there's plenty of room for the kids – and grownups – to play. Among the amenities are chemical disposal and facilities for ice pack freezing; new shower, toilet and laundry/washing-up facilities were added in 2017. Barbecues are allowed if raised off the ground.

Liked Lovely peaceful campsite, everywhere was clean and tidy, really nice views of the countryside. Lovely owners, Craig was very informative showing us the best places to go out and had a local map showing us the best walks and cycling rides to go on.

The Malton 2 bedroom static caravan

Liked Me, my Husband and 2 year old have come back today from an amazing stay at this site. We stayed in the Malton static caravan which was a great sized van for the 3 of us. It was immaculate inside, with a veranda and furniture to relax outside. Craig and Nyrene are great, they were very welcoming, and gave us the lowdown of all the good restaurants and places to go, with the really lovely touch of cream tea gifted to us on arrival in the van. Our 2 year old loved the playground they have on site too!
The site is a perfect location, very quiet and peaceful, only a 5 minute drive to Perranporth beach (30 minutes if you wanted to walk) and not a far drive to some of the local attractions (Healey’s Cider Farm, Callestick Ice Cream Parlour, Newquay Zoo.
We’ve enjoyed it that much we have booked to go back next year.

Disliked No dislikes, everything was perfect!

Electric grass pitch

Liked We liked the site overall. And what we asked for when we booked was met. Due to very strong winds our tent was damaged, but Craig the owner went out of his way to make sure our holiday wasn’t ruined. So we can’t thank him enough for that. We will definitely be back next year.

Disliked The only thing that we didn’t like was the weather.

From the manager: Thank you for your review…. Pleased you made the most of it when the calm weather returned.
Look forward to welcoming you back next time 😊

Beachcomber 2 bedroom static caravan

Liked Very clean and spacious caravan. Staff very friendly, informative and happy to help. We were gifted with scones, jam and cream on arrival, which was much appreciated after a long journey. Site is peaceful but still local to beaches and towns. A perfect getaway for anyone seeking solitude, as well as anyone wanting to explore the surrounding areas.

Disliked No WiFi available, so struggled with signal a lot of the time.

Atlas Chorus 3 bedroom static caravan

Liked Absolutely everything. Starting with beautiful caravan, quiet neighbourhood, clean site, great playground, finishing on little bunnies running around. On 5 minutes drive to the gorgeous beach for body boarding and 50 minutes from Lands end, Monaco theatre and St Michael’s mount. We definitely are coming back!

Local attractions

The beaches at Perranporth are less than two miles from Reen Cross Campsite and, along with Newquay, are top foamy spots for north Cornwall surfing and kitesurfing. Drop into the tourist office to get discount vouchers for the local surf schools if you'd like to learn how to board. Perranporth is also home to the gigs and pints of The Watering Hole, the only UK pub to be set right on the sands, and like all the seaside towns around Cornwall has easy access to the South West Coast Path, the spectacular 630-mile trail running from Minehead in Somerset along the Cornwall and Devon coasts down to Poole Harbour in Dorset. From Perranporth, hike to Newquay in one direction or to St Agnes or Portreath in the other; all places have provisions for pitstops for traversing further should you and your feet wish. Highly viewsome teeing off at Perranporth Golf Club is about a mile away; horse riding stables within the same distance, and a play park and football field are close to the site. Within easy driving distance are days out at Healeys Cornish Cyder Farm, Newquay's Holywell Bay Fun Park, the Lappa Valley Steam Railway, and DairyLand Farmworld, the award-winning attraction near Newquay.
