Richmond 2 bedroom static caravan

Liked: Well spaced out site. Nice and quiet. Excellent for children with central play area. Caravan was well equipped.

Disliked: No dislikes really, only a bit chilly in the caravan during the night - could have done with some central heating although was a gas fire in lounge area.

Richmond 2 bedroom static caravan

Liked: Caravan was lovely and spacey. Views across countryside were awesome. Area was close to Perranporth. Campsite was clean and tidy. Welcome was friendly. Craig upgraded us before we even got there ... and we were really excited to have such a lovely caravan home for our stay. There was a cream tea waiting for us in the caravan 😀

Disliked: To be honest, nothing. It could have had an electric toaster and small plates ... (just trying to find dislikes). The cooker was gas and had a gas grill, but we are not really used to gas, (the gas grill was a little temperamental, which made us nervous to use it).

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Friendly, clean, peaceful and tidy campsite. Good for everyone. We had an eight year old child and he was able to bike and scooter round the site. We also had a dog and that was no problem either as there were lots of lovely paths and tracks to walk, one of them to Perrenporth (a lovely seaside town) and one to Goon Havern (which had a lovely garden centre, cafe, pub and amazing Londis shop selling fresh baked goods and deserts from local bakeries). Lovely play area for the kids. The owner was great and went above and beyond for us. Thank you Craig. We will stay here again when visiting Cornwall. 👍😁

Disliked: All was brilliant.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: We enjoyed seeing the rabbits both in daytime and nighttime. We loved the friendliness of the owner and workers on the site. The tent pitches were flat. The showers were a good consistent temperature. The shower block was clean. The site was well kept and looked after (e.g. grass cut, flowers watered). There was a washing machine and dryer available which we used once. Very handy. Fantastic location and great proximity to Perranporth town. We drove to numerous sites within Cornwall from our camp site, as well as walking into Perranporth itself, which took around 35 minutes. This was a quiet site, which really helped with quality family time, something which we really needed.

Disliked: One shower in the women's was shut off. After a few days of our stay the site got busier which meant waiting for a shower. However the wait wasn't very long.

Local attractions

The beaches at Perranporth are less than two miles from Reen Cross Campsite and, along with Newquay, are top foamy spots for north Cornwall surfing and kitesurfing. Drop into the tourist office to get discount vouchers for the local surf schools if you'd like to learn how to board. Perranporth is also home to the gigs and pints of The Watering Hole, the only UK pub to be set right on the sands, and like all the seaside towns around Cornwall has easy access to the South West Coast Path, the spectacular 630-mile trail running from Minehead in Somerset along the Cornwall and Devon coasts down to Poole Harbour in Dorset. From Perranporth, hike to Newquay in one direction or to St Agnes or Portreath in the other; all places have provisions for pitstops for traversing further should you and your feet wish. Highly viewsome teeing off at Perranporth Golf Club is about a mile away; horse riding stables within the same distance, and a play park and football field are close to the site. Within easy driving distance are days out at Healeys Cornish Cyder Farm, Newquay's Holywell Bay Fun Park, the Lappa Valley Steam Railway, and DairyLand Farmworld, the award-winning attraction near Newquay.
