  • Back-to-basics pitches with spectacular Mount’s Bay views in Cornwall
  • A 20-minute walk from Newlyn and half an hour from Mousehole
  • Dog-friendly site five minutes’ drive from the South West Coast Path
Views? Yep. Characterful Cornish villages like Newlyn, Paul and Mousehole within walking distance? Trewarveneth Manor Farm Camping has those too. In fact, this small, family-friendly site has a lot to like, especially the spectacular views to Mount’s Bay and St Michael’s Mount just off the coast. If that’s not enough, there are sandy expanses 15 minutes’ drive away at Long Rock Beach, and local communities include Penzance, Marazion, Perranuthnoe and Porthleven, all much-loved destinations with lots of different offerings. The village of Paul, just 15 minutes’ stroll away across the fields, is home to a pub that serves excellent beer and food. That’s just the fuel you need for rural walks all within easy reach of Trewarveneth Manor Farm – any dogs you bring are likely to enjoy these routes too. There’s also a regular bus service from Mousehole to Newlyn and Penzance, if you want to take your adventures further afield and leave the car behind. Back at base, the site has portable toilets and shower facilities, as well as a washing-up area and drinking water, but no hot water and no electric hook-ups. Remember to bring torches to find your way around after dark.

What customers say

This peaceful campsite offers exceptional views across Mount's Bay, with many guests praising the friendly and helpful owner. Facilities are described as basic but functional, with particularly well-received hot showers. While some found the rural setting ideal for a quiet retreat, others noted the basic nature of the compost toilets and showers, and a few experienced issues with the access track.

Liked The views are amazing, and the site was extremely quiet which was lovely. The facilities are quite something, but totally fine if you're up for it.

Non-electric grass and earth tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Beautiful view over the bay to St michaels Mount. Rural setting. Very quiet and peaceful. No defined pitches gives it more of a 'wild camping' feel.

Disliked The price (£24 for one night) was really high considering the facilities available and remote location (not really walkable to any pubs/shops/beaches). No toilet paper provided in the toilets (bring your own), no hand soap provided, only one tap which was the washing up sink which you also had to fill bottles and wash hands in. 2 showers but one of them was open so would need swimsuit - this was fine when I was there (Thursday night, it was quiet). But if it was busy the queue for the one closed shower would be excessive. No reception or even firewood for sale. If it had been £12 for the night and advertised as very 'back to basics, bring your own toilet roll, hand soap etc' I would give 9/10 because the location is so beautiful but for the price the facilities need to be better.

Non-electric grass and earth tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked lovely and quiet, great views. the farmer was friendly, easy going and welcoming. Facilities are basic, but all you need, and the showers are hot!

Disliked access track is a bit rough and it sheared off a plastic cover under my car, near the entrance. Drive carefully

Non-electric grass and earth tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Trewarveneth camping meadow gently slowps towards a expensive view of Newly , Penzance marazion and st Michael's mount ; the sea and sky fill the horizon and the Scilly isles ferry can be watched as is sails out to see . And past the trewarveneth stone.
I stayed on solstice night and would have stayed longer .

She needs a bit more signage so we do not get lost in the orchard and a grass strimming about the bogs and amenities , and the horse trailer houseing the mixed showers needs a jet washing just to brighten things up a bit now the horse's in the adjacent field are no longer using it , I was very surprised the shower supplied warm water .
I like a cold shower.
See you there next year If I may.

Disliked Cars driving and parking in the meadow bother me .

Non-electric grass and earth tent or trailer tent pitch

Non-electric grass and earth tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Location, very close to the town but I had a car... walking up the hill would've not been good.
Had beautiful view of Penzance bay, can see St Michael's Mount. Was very quiet and peaceful. Completely level pitch and I could see the bay when I was standing up. Just turn up - no contact which sometimes is nice :)

Disliked Toilet seat wasn't clean and I didn't feel comfortable using it nor the shower. I'm normally not too picky but I was only there one night so was not something I needed to do. I came on Sunday and so before the week so perhaps that might contribute to why.

Local attractions

It’s half an hour’s stroll to the picture-perfect fishing village of Mousehole, where you can take boat trips out along the Cornish coastline and lose yourself in the web of narrow streets lined with art galleries and cosy seafood restaurants. Marazion (15 minutes’ drive) is another lively coastal town with lots of indie shops; it’s also the jumping-off point for expeditions across the bay to St Michael’s Mount, the craggy islet topped by a medieval castle. If you’d rather explore by pedal power, cycle along the coastline between Marazion and Penzance (20 minutes’ by bike), or have a go at the scenic ride to Land’s End (55 minutes). And of course, long-distance hikers can jump on the South West Coast Path at Newlyn (five minutes’ drive). There’s plenty of culture to be had in this lively corner of Cornwall; book alfresco performances at The Minack Theatre (20 minutes), and if you hit a rainy day, grab tickets for the latest blockbuster at the cinema in Newlyn (five minutes). When you’ve got a good day, have a dawdle around the sub-tropical plantings at National Trust-owned Trengwainton Garden (10 minutes), or spot the art installations dotted around Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens (15 minutes).
