Good size pitch

Self activation security barrier so could come and go as we pleased.

No need to book in at reception, clear instructions via email.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Large pitches, very well kept grass and shrubbery.
Come and go whatever time you like with the automatic entry / exit.
Very clean facilities, good washing up area.
Good Wifi signal.
Nice dog exercise area on site, and close to the beautiful dog walk at Chapel Carn Brea.
Friendly staff. No Kids!

Disliked Single lane approach road could be problematic if you're towing as tractors use the same road.
Bit of a whiff from the drains near the toilet block.

Electric grass pitch

Liked We had a lovely stay at Cardinney Caravan and Camping Park! The site is exceptionally well-maintained, with spotlessly clean facilities that made our stay very comfortable. The pitches are generously sized, giving everyone plenty of space and a real sense of privacy.

We also appreciated the small on-site shop, which was perfect for grabbing any essentials we’d forgotten. Another handy feature was the covered washing-up area — especially useful in the unpredictable Cornish weather!

What really stood out, though, was the friendly and helpful staff. They were always on hand with a smile and great local recommendations, which really added to the warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Disliked The only small downside was the push-button showers, which need pressing every 20 seconds or so to keep the water flowing. It’s a minor inconvenience, but combined with the fact that it could get a bit chilly in the shower area, it might be worth bringing a warm towel or robe for after your shower.

Local attractions

Have a look at the leaflets in Cardinney's information hut to see the best of what's nearby: sandy beaches, surfing, golf, fishing, horse riding and seaside towns and villages are all within five miles. Land's End first, of course… of all the scenic spots in Cornwall, this is among the most spectacular, and you'll probably need a couple of days at least roaming around the beaches, coves and cliffs here... Secluded Sennen Cove and its sparkling sands are a first stopoff for many, who come to soak up the sun on its sands or tackle the waves on its surf. Whitesands Beach is also well regarded for surf and joins up with the mile of beach at Gwenver where the waves are a bit stronger (all three beaches are lifeguarded in summer). On the cliffs, many suggest that one of the best Land's End occupations is just to sit and watch the waves crashing below, but if you're itching for a hike, visit the visitors' centre for a list of walks around the area, or the RSPB Wildlife Discovery Centre just below the famous Land's End signpost to find out what species you can see. In the evening, the famed open-air Minack Theatre at Porthcurno is probably one of this area's best-known manmade things, set into the cliffs and listed as one of the most spectacular theatres in the world. The season runs from May to September, but tickets are available to look around the theatre and gardens during the day. Cardinney Caravan and Camping Park is an obliging base for other much-visited Cornish attractions like National Trust houses and gardens and yet more spectacular beaches: try Godolphin at Helston, Flambards theme park, or lying on the sands at Marazion, Mousehole or along the coast at St Ives.
