  • Take a bus or a five-minute drive to Padstow and its stunning beach
  • Campfires allowed; shop on site and food served mornings and evenings
You’ll have a tough time choosing between Cornish ice cream and fish and chips when you touch down at Padstow View Campsite in Cornwall. Pitch up at a peaceful farm site with estuary views… and use it as your gateway to sandy beaches, harbour towns and the Cornish countryside. Within a short bus journey, five-minute drive or 45-minute walk of Padstow and also 20 minutes from Newquay, this friendly site welcomes dogs and families. The showers on site will help rinse away any sand picked up visiting the seven bays within 10 minutes’ drive (including Trevone Bay, Constantine Bay, Porthcothan Bay, Treyarnon Bay, Booby’s Bay, Mother Ivy’s Bay and Harlyn Bay); there are toilets, hot showers and a washing-up area on site for guests' use as well. Phone charging lockers are available for powering your gadgets (with wifi available and a decent 4G signal too), and there are plugs on hand for small appliances like hairdryers. Alternatively, while away your day hiking or cycling around the country trails and coastal paths. Walk directly to Padstow or catch a regular bus from the site. In Padstow, boats are on hand for angling or beach hopping and Rick Stein’s famous seafood recipes can be sampled at several restaurants. Good day out at sea? Bring your catch back to the site, where barbecues are allowed. There's a shop on site with essentials and delicious food is served every night on site. On the morning menu are fresh coffee, cakes and fresh locally-sourced bacon rolls. Handily, there are also several pubs and restaurants (including a dog-friendly pick) within a five-minute drive and a farm shop a couple of minutes' drive away.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: Lovely owners and a great campsite with excellent facilities. The onsite shop and food suppliers are very reasonably priced, mobile phone charging available in secure lockers which takes away the fear of mobiles being stolen. Showers and toilets were always clean with a constant supply of hot water. excellent location on the bus route with Padstow only a short drive or bus ride away.

Liked: Great place to stay if you’re looking for get away in Cornwall. The owner was really welcoming and couldn’t have done more to help. Facilities on the site were better than I’d expected and kept to a high standard. There’s a small shop onsite for essentials you might’ve forgotten however Tesco and Aldi aren’t far at all (hot food is also available in the morning and evening in case you’re feeling lazy). Overall I’d highly recommend staying at Padstow View, pricing was cheap considering the location and quality of amenities (close to good beaches and Newquay) will definitely look to stay here again.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: I loved the location of the site, perfect to access nearby towns without driving too far. The layout of the camp was lovely with food vans, as well as lights everywhere to make it easier at night. The showers and toilets were so clean. The shop on site was amazing to have, we’ve never been on a site with a shop so it came in very handy. The site was busy, with lots of people but everyone was so kind. The staff on site were so lovely and willing to help no matter what. We will definitely be visiting again. After 7 hours of travelling a site like this is just what we needed. Thank you so much.

Liked: The site is well run and the facilities are kept very clean and tidy. Judith who runs the site is super helpful and friendly. There is a coffee trailer that opens each morning with pastries and food. The site is in a great location, close to Padstow and many lovely beaches. This was our second visit to this site and we thoroughly enjoyed the stay. Thank you Judith.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: Location, site, distance to key areas and landmarks. On site facilities including excellent showers and toilets. Been our first camp for some time and these facilities and their cleanliness are important. Plenty of room on pitch and able to park car by tent. Loved the on-site shops to get us going and overall friendliness of site team and welcome. Absolutely delighted with our stay.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: Wow - what a fabulous campsite! Feel so lucky to have found it! Judith not not have been more attentive and there’s nothing that was too much trouble from the second we got there until we left. Full of information and advise for local areas as well. She works so hard and there wasn’t a moment we didn’t see her on site from the crack of dawn until bedtime. The campsite is in a great location, with great views of Padstow and was really easy to find - just a 5 minute bus ride into Padstow (better than trying to find a parking space). Trevone Bay beach again only 5 minutes drive and perfect for young families! Every pitch had so much space, and you can pick your own which is a bonus, allowed us to setup camp with more of our family. Such a family friendly vibe to the whole site, quiet time from 10pm which everyone really respected. Toilets and showers (lovely and hot and plenty of space)were both clean at all times, well lit in the night as well. The on-site shop is stacked full of everything you could possibly need from breakfast items to ice cream, entertainment for the kids and any essentials you may have forgotten all at amazing prices as well . Cash or card is accepted which really helps!! Phone charging lockers were a great addition - £1 for 2 hours and ice blocks to hire for 10p a day (you can also re freeze your own which is really helpful!) We hired a fire pit for the duration of our stay and bought all the kindling and wood we needed in the shop was such a lovely experience for the children in the evenings and definitely helped to keep us warm!

Disliked: Genuinely don’t think there was anything we didn’t love!!!

Liked: Clean campsite with lovely showers and toilets. Quiet after 10 pm allowed us to get our little one to sleep easily, the team were so friendly with the oodlees of facilities on site. A real shame it's only a pop-up, would definitely come back, best campsite I we have ever stayed at.

Local attractions

Don’t forget to pack your walking gear… the 18-mile Camel Trail begins in Padstow or Wadebridge (both within 10 minutes’ drive). and there are trails all over the local heritage coast (several within 15 minutes) or a different type of adventure underground at Carnglaze Caverns (40 minutes). The sea is your playground here, too. Boats wait at Padstow Harbour (five minutes) to whisk you out to sea for angling or wildlife spotting… keep your eyes peeled for seals, dolphins, puffins and basking sharks. A ferry can also take you across the river to Rock (otherwise 25 minutes’ drive) for a laidback afternoon. Kids are likely to enjoy the steam railway ride at Lappa Valley (25 minutes) or the animals and rides at Camel Creek Adventure Park (five minutes). As for adults, they can unwind with a meal or wine tasting at Trevibban Mill Vineyard or take a gin tour at Tarquins distillery (both five minutes away). Upgrade from a bodyboard to a surfboard at one of several surfing spots in the area. For newbies, there’s a surf school at Harlyn Bay (10 minutes) or more daring swells at Newquay (20 minutes) and Fistral Beach (30 minutes).
