From Exeter (M5) follow signs for Okehampton and Bodmin. Come off at Junction 31. Continue on the A30 past Bodmin (approximately 60 miles). Continue for another 13 miles to Highgate Hill Junction (signposted for 'Indian Queens', and 'Newquay' A39/A392). Take left slip road and go round roundabout under the A30, taking the third exit onto the A39. At next roundabout take second exit, (A392), signposted Quintrell Downs-Newquay. Continue on the A392 through Mountjoy and straight over the roundabout at Quintrell Downs. At next roundabout you will see the Kings Head public house on the left-hand side. Go straight across and down the hill. At the following roundabout take the first exit (left) onto the A3075, signposted Crantock, Cubert, Perranporth. Continue for about 2 miles.
At the top of the hill, turn right (High Lanes) signed Cubert and Holywell Bay. (Tip: if you go down a very big dip and up the other side, you've gone too far!). Continue until you reach Cubert village (about 1 mile); at the mini-roundabout, turn right, (Wesley Road). Stay on this road, past the village school, through the zigzag speed restriction. After a few hundred yards you will see a sign on the left for Treworgans Holiday Park.
Turn left, down to the bottom, the site is on the left…well done, you made it!
Local attractions
Top family attractions, nature spotting days, golf, fishing, coastal hikes and more are all easy to get to from here, as are days on the sands and in the water: the surfing resort of Newquay and its seven beaches including world famed Fistral is ten minutes away.
In town and on land, a wander around Newquay Zoo or the Blue Reef Aquarium are also popular picks, as is a day at the Lappa Valley Steam Railway just outside Newquay, in a setting with a boating lake, rides, nature trails, crazy golf and a toddlers' maze. More actively, spend a day hiking the 12 or so miles from Newquay harbour to Perranporth along the South West Coast Path.
Or do you fancy some fishing? The Treworgans Holiday Park team rightly points out that in Cornwall, one can angle pretty much anywhere one likes: close by, you could land bass, ray and flatfish from Newquay's Atlantic Ocean swells, or more of the same from beaches like Holywell Bay; the team's top tips are to use sand eel for bait, and to seek out beaches with the best rip tides.
