  • Sheltered family-friendly site powered by sustainable solar energy
  • Countryside setting, 10 minutes’ drive from Newquay's beaches
  • Heated outdoor pool, shop, bar and playground on site
Heading to Newquay to plunge with your surfboard into the foaming waves on world-famous surfing beaches, explore the stunning coastline and sample Cornish pasties? Step forward Treloy Touring Park, an award-winning site in the Cornish countryside and just 10 minutes’ drive from the surfing town of Newquay and its excellent beaches and coastline. Despite its proximity to Newquay, this spot is tucked away from the crowds, and it caters exclusively to families and couples looking for an outdoor break with a touch of luxury (and a heated outdoor pool). Holidaymakers will stay on generously sized pitches with access to facilities such as individual washrooms, an accessible shower room, parent and baby rooms and family bathrooms. There's also a high-speed wifi service so you can keep up with the world around you. The café/takeaway cooks delicious locally sourced food and there’s a shop that’s handy for essentials, camping items or fresh coffees, croissants and Cornish pasties. Kids can be entertained at the play area, which has a zipwire, swings, slides and an accessible basket swing, or you can take them wildlife spotting at the nature reserve's pond or the woodland trail. The family-friendly bar (which had an upgrade for the 2024 summer season) is the place to be in the evenings during the school holidays, when you can join in with bingo nights and pub quizzes. The bar has indoor seating as well as a terrace with a pergola, so there should be plenty of space to meet friends or hang out with the family. The sheltered location, only four miles from Newquay, makes this an excellent base for exploring stunning beaches, coastal paths, villages and Cornwall’s top attractions. Plus, the nearby Treloy golf course – with a driving range, nine-hole course, golf shop with club hire and a licensed clubhouse – is 15 minutes’ walk up the road and has concessionary prices for the site’s guests.

What customers say

This campsite is highly recommended for its exceptional cleanliness, modern and well-maintained facilities, particularly the shower blocks. Pitches are spacious and private, often separated by hedges. Guests praise the friendly and helpful staff, the excellent swimming pool, and on-site cafe. While many highlight it as one of the best campsites they've stayed at, minor drawbacks mentioned include occasional issues with toilet roll holders, the cost of Wi-Fi, and the need for a car due to the location.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Such friendly and kind staff.
Great food options in the restaurant and in the shop.
The space and privacy of our pitch was like nothing we’ve had before.
The toilets were really clean and felt luxurious.
I honestly couldn’t fault this place at all.

Electric grass pitch

Liked What a beautiful campsite this is, a total gem! Facilities are excellent and everything centred around families. Loved the evening entertainment, swimming pool and new toilets/showers! I would definitely recommend to others and visit again! We thought it was a great spot to use as a base and visit different beaches and places in Cornwall. The flowers and grounds are tidy and so well kept! Thank you! ⭐️

Electric grass pitch

Liked The reception staff were friendly & welcoming, explaining where things were & how things worked.
The cafe was nice, we had breakfast once & evening meal once. The staff went above & beyond for us,
The grass on our large pitch was well looked after & tidy & electric worked as should.
The pitches were layed out well, with maximum space between.
The site was quiet enough in the evenings.
The shower / toilet blocks (two male, two female, one block of three family rooms for toddlers & a small bath in one of them, plus an accessible room, then a baby change area in the bottom blocks & a baby change room at the top blocks) were cleaned multiple times a day.
The laundrette was reasonably priced, clean ‘ tidy with different wash settings & we didn’t use the dryer but it was clean.
The park had everything needed for all ages.
The shop had a good selection of things, at reasonable prices.
The pool was clean & with a safe depth, with toilets & changing rooms at poolside, the bar was an added bonus so you could sunbathe with a drink.
We didn’t use the ironing room, nature trail, games room or dog field but they looked lovely.

Disliked If we had to choose three things we disliked, they would be:

- Was a little expensive compared to other sites but was still very nice.
- The Wi-Fi was quite expensive, so we didn’t purchase but others said it wasn’t very good.
- The surface at the wash basins got flooded regularly & could have done with a shelf to put a toiletry bag.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Beautiful site with plenty of electric hook-up pitches available.
All facilities clean and welcoming.
Individual cubicles consisting of toilet, hand basin and showers meant that showering experience was private and unrushed.
Wash facilities remained clean and tidy throughout the day.
Washing up facilities tidy with access to full size kitchen sinks to aid the process.
Well-stocked camp shop with the essentials and 'forgotten' items, so you can camp with ease.
Dogs welcome throughout the site, but dog-walking area available.
Transport links are plentiful with a short distance to Newquay's main A-roads.

Disliked The only downside would be some of the shower cubicles would benefit from shaving lights, simply because of the positioning of overhead lighting casting shadows
WiFi bandwidth was slightly lacking. Was sometimes easier to access off the WiFi, but having already spent the £10 for the week access, we were unable to find an easy way of getting that back.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked This is a fantastic Site. Friendly welcome on arrival and an easy route to find pitches. The buildings were well built with quality fixtures & fittings & exceptionally maintained. The Site lay-out and general upkeep was impeccable, with the bonus of hedges between each tent pitch. Really top quality cafe with great food , and a little Greek twist to your usual burgers. Great little bar for a quiet drink but incredibly underused by the vast majority of Campers🤷🏻‍♂️. The Site also has a small play area & clean, outdoor pool.
I can’t fault anything on the Campsite.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked The pool was very nice. The facilities were tidy and clean.

Disliked We chose a tent pitch at the far end of the park (assuming it would be quiet, which it was). We knew the walk to the nearest toilet block would be a bit of a walk, but this proved to be further than we expected.

Local attractions

Treloy is in a first-class location whether your interests are coast- or countryside-based, with fishing, golfing, cycling and main attractions like the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan all within easy reach. One or more of the 11 beaches in and around Newquay will be most holidaymakers’ first stop. Family beaches such as Mawgan Porth and Watergate Bay are a few minutes’ drive from Treloy: both Mawgan and Watergate are lifeguarded in the summer and Watergate has safe swimming areas for kids. On land, Newquay and its surroundings have plenty going on too: try Trenance Gardens (part of Trenance Leisure Park), where there is more than enough to tire the kids out with the boating lake, crazy golf, play areas, nature trails, the flumes and pools of Waterworld and one of the miniature trains, the Little Western Railway. Blue Reef Aquarium and Lappa Valley Steam Railway should hold the attention of even the most fidgety youngster, but if not, Camel Creek is half an hour away. Kids thoroughly tired out? Onto more grownup activities such as an evening at Newquay’s theatre or four-screen cinema, or angle for some fishing: coarse fishing at Porth Reservoir, a mile from Treloy, or a half/full day sea fishing trip from Newquay harbour. The South West Coast Path runs behind Watergate Bay – hike from here to Mawgan Porth or the 10 miles to Porthcothan – and for two-wheelers, the Padstow to Wadebridge leg of the Camel Trail is an easy traffic-free 5 mile cycle. You might even want to – ssh – take the kids along on that one…
