  • Family-friendly park 10 minutes' drive from Newquay
  • Covering 56 acres including a dedicated dog area
  • Pool, play zones, clubhouse and fish and chip takeaway
There’ll be plenty of time for monkey business in this family-friendly site… Surrounded by a whopping 56 acres of countryside and a fab place for taking toddlers, Monkey Tree Holiday Park is 10 minutes from Perranporth and its huge open beach, as well as the lively surf centre of Newquay. As you might already (luckily) know, the north coast of Cornwall is tiptop for beaches – Newquay's famed for its world-class waves and heady nightlife, while Perranporth has kayaking and hovercrafting to get adventurously stuck into, and top-notch coastal walks on either side of the beach. Back at base, catch a few pages of your book while the kids splash about in the outdoor heated pool complex… or while they join in with the packed entertainment schedule for juniors (there's a talented in-house entertainment team on hand with a daily kids' club and Funky Monkey putting in a regular appearance). On top of that, a maze of net walkways, slides and ball pools means that younger guests will have plenty to keep them entertained, whatever the weather. Food's sorted with the on-site clubhouse and restaurant, and fish and chip takeaway (fish and chips + seaside = essential). Or fire up the barbecue instead: hit up the camp store for the essentials, or head to the grocery store 10 minutes away.

What customers say

This is a highly-rated, family-friendly campsite with clean facilities, spacious pitches, and excellent entertainment. Visitors praise the swimming pool, playgrounds, and friendly staff. While many highlight the extensive activities for children and the park's cleanliness, some note issues with WiFi, noise from other guests, and the cost of certain activities. The location is generally considered good, though some find it remote without a car.

Electric grass pitch (comfort)

Liked The whole park is fantastic couldn’t ask for more. We only did 3 nights but you could easily spend a week just on sight. The location is perfect 10 mins of Perranporth, and Newquay I would most definitely stay here again.

Disliked The fact entertainment goes on til midnight and people who think it’s ok to shout their heads off as they make their way back to their pitch.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Green, well maintained grass pitch. Located a short driving distance from newquay and a local bus stop into newquay at the park entrance.

The swimming pool is lovely for small children/toddlers.

Arcade is quite small but was still fun.

Lovely neighbours all around.

Disliked The toilet blocks for camping were not cleaned regularly and not efficient enough at all. The floors were mopped with very dirty mop head no bucket used and water then brushed outside onto the decking entrance.
During our 5 day stay I seen the cleaners maybe 4 times and each of those times they only "wiped" the floors and did not clean them or the showers etc...
Womens toilet had a flickering light during our whole stay despite reporting this to staff on site.

The main toilets/amenities were fairly clean however.

The main entertainment through the day is under an outdoor cover area but not am efficient amount of seating for the amount of people there.

Children who can not swim unaided must remain in the very shallow end of the pool this was not made aware to us prior or using our stay until we was in the pool which resulted in a very upset child and me having to stay in the shallow end while also trying to keep an eye on my older child who could swim. We went in with a swimming vest aid but still wasn't allowed I'm the deep end.

My sister came to "visit" us on site however wasn't allowed any entry with payment of a day ticket which was rather expensive, we had planned a bbq on our pitch which did not happen.

The supermarket on site had half empty shelves.

Rubbish littered around and walk past by staff.

VERY unapproachable and miserable woman in her 50s in the arcade.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Immaculately clean
Lovely flowers and borders everywhere
Plenty of wash room facilities dotted around the park
Warm pool! Plenty of sun beds next to the pool
Good value shop and bar
Dog walking area
Good value overall

Disliked Phone and internet signal is non existent, not totally the sites fault as it seemed to be an issue when we went out exploring local towns too. While it was nice to be cut off from the outside world, it was a pain when trying to plan each day. You could get some signal if you went to the shop but lost it as soon as you go back to the pitch.

Our pitch was very small, which was a bit tight trying to park the caravan onto it. Other pitches looked ample in size, just depends where you’re placed

Local attractions

Cornwall’s coastline and beaches are pretty much legendary, but Newquay (10 minutes) is world-famed for its surf and nightlife too. It’s a party town from daybreak until well after dark and the surf's so good they hold international competitions here – check out Fistral Beach and Watergate Bay. Perranporth (10 minutes) is the place to head for a more relaxed beach day, though it’s very popular so best to get your towel down early. The beach here is a fab spot for dog walking, rolling up the trousers for a paddle or lazing around and copping a look at the views. The Eden Project (35 minutes) has the UK’s most realistic rainforest, full of rare plant species and exotic butterflies, as well as a pretty nifty Mediterranean biome. Daredevils can also have a go on England’s longest zipwires – or head over to Flambards in Helston (45 minutes) for flumes, rollercoasters and go karting.
