Liked: Excellent price. Generously sized level hard standing pitches. Very clean and modern facilities. Goog location for an overnight stop on the way through to/from Cornwall.
Disliked: Telephone operated barrier-the instructions are to call a phone number from a specific place, a stop at the bottom of the steep entrance slope. By the time you have hung up, put your phone down and driven to the barrier, it’s on its way down again! Had to slam the brakes on to prevent crashing into it! Nothing else to do in the immediate vicinity- ok for caravans or campers but a bit inconvenient for motorhomes wanting to explore beyond the camp boundaries. Train line a bit noisy early evening but didn’t hear anything through the night.

From the manager: Thank you for your review, we are sorry that the barrier system didn't work for you, but we do have the timer set to 40 seconds before it closes which is plenty of time to phone and drive through the barrier. Regards, Nathan

Liked: Used as a one night stopover, booked last minute. Ongoing improvement works obvious but not intrusive clean and modern facilities block with nice hot shower - liked having shower curtain, good hooks and a stool :) convenient location for onward travel level pitch Price for standard pitch good value.
Disliked: Wouldn't be my choice for a holiday base, but ideal for one night. Nothing much in walking distance promised views hidden by growth of hedges/trees. Will be lovely (again) once the work is complete.

Liked: Nice site, with clean tiolet and shower facilities. Pitches are a good size, gravel and or grass. It is well situated for touring the area. 25minute walk to Dobwalls where you can catch bus to local areas.
Disliked: It is currently undergoing site work. We were off the site for mist of the day and were not disturbed. This may not always be the case? No WiFi.

Electric gravel touring pitch
Liked: Beautiful views across Bodmin Moor. Very quiet campsite with immaculate facilities. If you want kids activities, bars and restaurants then this isn't for you. If you want a clean, peaceful, quiet place to pitch up then this is the place. It's a nice base if you are wanting to explore Cornwall but want to have peace away from the crowds. We live locally but wanted a little trial trip in our campervan. Had a lovely quiet nights sleep! There is a main road near by but we didn't hear it at all. Pitches are level and no problems with hook up.
