Everything was great - beautiful location (in the middle of nowhere up single-lane roads), beautiful views over the valley (we had caradon hut), fantastic really helpful hosts, fully equipped kitchen, really comfy big bed and lovely big clean shared bathrooms. Bring bed linen and towels :-)

Our stay was wonderful in every single way. The cottage was lovely and homely, but big enough to fit in two people plus luggage.
Contrary to other comments we actually found the site fairly easily, but it might just depend on which side you drive up to it. The site was so lovely, my boyfriend and I just admired it for ages, we stayed in Buzzard's rise so the view was astounding!
The pigs were a delight to see, every time we left we stopped to have a chat with the piggies.
The cooking and washing facilities were fantastic, also being so close to Looe was great so the area is lovely.
Overall the stay was just magical, Sara was an absolute sweetheart, so, so hospitable (even though we were difficult guests!)
It was our first holiday away together as a couple and we will most certainly be returning to this site.

We had a lovely stay at hedgerow huts in the outerdown cabin! We had everything we needed. The huts were cute and cosy so even in the rain it didn't matter. The views over the site are beautiful and a peaceful place to sit outside and have dinner when the sun comes out! The owners were extremely helpful and made us feel very welcome! They even included big welcome packs in each cabin showing everything in the local area, even some vouchers! The cooking hut was an extra bonus and we were even able to have chicken fajitas and steak (wasn't even like we were camping). Watching all of the animals was a little bit of extra entertainment, especially the pigs! Overall we had a great time both in sunshine and showers! Would definitely recommend!

    Disliked:

Nothing really to dislike apart from maps takes you to a completely wrong place on iPhone so once using google maps it bought us straight here! Only dislike would be that although it's absolutely beautiful here it's a little bit of distance for anywhere and slightly tricky to get too.

Perfect place to escape the rat race. All very clean with all you need to cook. The hut was spacious with great views. The owners were very welcoming and helpful. We already miss going to bed looking at the sunset and will miss tomorrow waking up and having a morning coffee with the sheep;0)

We loved the location in the depths of the Cornish countryside and access via slightly rutted lanes with wonderful high hedges. We liked the fact that there were only four huts - so you didn't have the feeling of being overlooked or cramped. The view from our hut was stunning. The showers/ loos worked well and were spotlessly clean. Great lanes for walking and cycling (if you don't mind a few hills).

    Disliked:

Really can't think of anything. It was all as described and well run.

From the manager...

Thank you for your kind review and we are glad you enjoyed your stay.

Sarah. :)

Absolutely fantastic. Tricky to find as no road signs up lanes but everyone so friendly around there that directions came quickly. Beautiful area, no electric so no phone for 3 days, which was a real get away. Fantastic views and lucky enough tohave a rainbow end in the field opposite our shed, with Buzzards gliding through it. totally chilling place and very friendly, helpful owners. Will be back next year for sure.

From the manager...

Thank you for your lovely review. Sadly most of the old local road signs were wooden and as they have rotted and broken the council have chosen not to replace all of them. Many moons ago our roads were sign posted quite well. :( We do try to provide as detailed directions as possible to help you and a contact number if you get lost, we are glad you found us!
Kind regards,
Sarah. :)

Directions

**Please note our nearest village is Trewidland, not Duloe. Duloe is incorrectly appearing when some visitors are using Google Maps to find us. We advise you to follow our directions below. Please be aware that (in most cases) following your satnAV will incorrectly take to you direct to our neighbours at Skants Farm; we are slightly further up the hill at 'Northside', under the same postcode.Thank you. :) **

From the Trerulefoot roundabout join the A38 heading towards Liskeard & Looe.

After approximately 3 miles, (passing Castle Motors on your left) take the Looe turning / slip road on your left.

100 yards later take another left at the T junction.

Continue for 1.5 miles.

At the T junction (with a house to your left and a converted & slated chapel to your right) go straight across (the main Liskeard/Looe road) at the cross roads onto a single track road.

After a few hundred yards turn left at the first Y junction (facing directly in front of you above an empty gateway), rather than following the road around to the right.

Continue along this road (a small incline) for another few hundred yards (passing two metal gateways to your right on the corner), and at the T junction turn right.

Follow this road for approximately a mile (passing a gateways on either side of you, then a copse to the left and a large grass verge to your right.)

Turn left at the next Y junction (again, facing directly in front of you with the road being divided by another gateway; there is also large single tree in the hedge on your right which is know locally as the 'Umbrella Tree'.)

Follow this road for 1.5 miles, passing East Brendon's gateway on your left, then Brendon Farm (with machinery in the field visible from the road.)

Continue along this fairly straight road passing several gateways on either side of you. Follow the road as it naturally turns to the right with a double gateway on this corner (please do not turn down a steep junction on your left with a grass triangle at the top, drive past this) and continue to follow the road to the right.

The road will wind along for about 1/2 mile.

Facing back at you will be a derelict barn with half of the roof missing in a field on a corner of the road. Our track runs up and behind this barn, straight in front of you. If you round the corner of the road, to the right and start to go down the hill you have missed us.
