Teneriffe Farm Camping & Caravan Site now owned & managed by the National Trust, is situated on the stunning Lizard Peninsula. Ideally located near the South West Coast Path, surrounded by the stunning North Predannack Downs Nature Reserve and the Lizard National Nature Reserve, it is perfect for those who just want to ‘switch off and get away from it all’. But if you like walking, bird watching, cycling, kayaking, swimming, surfing or other outdoor pursuits, then you will not be disappointed. There are numerous, excellent and award winning beaches, beautiful coves, fishing harbours, villages and local attractions only a short drive away. With no passing traffic and associated noise, the campsite is just that little bit off the beaten track, but easily accessible by road from Mullion village. At night, listen to the silence that only an area like this can provide or hear the sounds of our local wildlife in the surrounding fields.
The site itself commands a delightful sea view. In our 3 acre ‘Lower Predannack’ camping field there are 26 generously sized pitches, of which 15 have electric hook-up, suitable for tents, touring caravans, motorhomes, campervans and trailer tents. Pitches are located around the perimeter of the field, leaving the central area free for recreational purposes. A children’s play area has swings, slide and climbing frame. ‘Higher Predannack’ camping field, an additional 4 acre field, is brought into use for the high summer period which provides an additional 39 pitches: 29 located around the perimeter, 12 of which have electric hook-up, and 10 surrounding a central ‘wild meadow’ area.
In our shower and toilet block, hot water is provided for the wash basins, but a small charge of 20p is made for the showers. A hair drier is provided in the ladies and razor points in the men’s.
Facilities are provided for the washing of crockery etc. and for washing clothes. Hot water is free of charge. 2013 saw our new outdoor wash area come into use. No more queuing while waiting to wash your crockery and great for having a chat with your fellow campers! New launderette facilities provide both a washing machine and tumble drier. A freezer is provided for freezing your ice packs and we have a microwave for your use for the times when you just need one. There is no charge for using these services.
Barbecues are allowed on site. Please ensure they are lifted off the ground so that they do not scorch or burn the grass. If you choose to use a disposal barbecue then BBQ blocks are provided. We are sorry, but open fires are not permitted under any circumstances.
The site is managed as a traditional campsite, kept and maintained for everyone to enjoy a great camping experience. There are no entertainment or clubhouse facilities. The campsite is situated in a stunning area and visitors stay with us to experience this beautiful outdoor location. To help protect the peaceful nature of our site, we have a ‘no noise’ request between the hours of 11.00pm and 8.00am. Please note you will also need to bring torches with you as the only lighting is situated around the shower and toilet block.
With very little light pollution the area is great for star gazing. On a clear night the views are truly stunning. You’ll be surprised how many stars you can see with the naked eye: even more through binoculars. Check out Discover the wonders of our dark skies for an insight into star gazing and for more information about our solar system.
New for 2013 saw the introduction of our Family Camping Pods. They are generously sized and can accommodate up to 4 adults or 2 adults & 3 children, and are a great way to experience the enjoyment of camping but with a little luxury of a warm, dry place to sleep. Kids just love them! It’s like staying in a den! Built in solid treated timber and insulated with sheep’s wool, each pod is equipped with lighting, a comfortable low pile carpeted base on which to sleep, an oil filled electric radiator, power supply and French doors that lead to a lovely outside wooden decking area: perfect to sit out on to have your meals or just to enjoy a lovely evening and watch the sun go down. Each pod also comes with sleeping mattresses for up to 4 people. They can then be stacked during the day for seating.
Our pods are generously sized with internal dimensions of 3.52m (11ft 6in) x 2.66m (8ft 8in) and a 2.20m (7ft 2in) head room. To stay in a pod, you need to bring with you everything you would normally need for camping; you just don’t need the tent. But don’t forget your sleeping bags or other suitable bedding! If you would like any further information then please ask us.
We welcome you to bring your dog, but please ensure he is kept under strict supervision at all times, always tethered whilst on-site (there are no exceptions to this), and taken off-site to be exercised. There is plenty of open countryside to be found with easy access immediately from the campsite. Please refer to our Terms & Conditions for full details regarding our dog policy.
