Electric grass pitch

Liked: The campsite was really nice, toilets and showers were clean. Only 2 showers and 3 toilets in each bathroom - never an availability issue when we were there but unsure if it might have been a quieter weekend. We really liked the local products which were available to buy - jam, honey, vegetables, eggs and flowers. All for incredibly reasonable prices. Washup facilities: 3 sinks (two inside) and a small fridge and chest freezer - both of which were practically empty whilst we were there. The location was great for exploring the lizard peninsula.

Disliked: Located next to cow farm so could hear the cows, however not an issue for us.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Absolutely perfect little site. Clean facilities, site was busy but still plenty of facilities. Lovely owners including their son who was extremely informative and good with the children asking about the farming. Wonderful touch with the cows - just added to the camping nature. Close to surrounding beauty spots and amenities making it the perfect site, shame it’s taken us so many years to get here as we will 100% be returning.

Disliked: WiFi didn’t work - but who needs internet when exploring the outdoors ! The only thing I’d say is research the postcodes you need before arriving as signal isn’t great on site. (No fault of the owners obviously)

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Lovely working dairy farm, we saw the new born calves. The site was clean and well kept. Large plots for pitching up. Showers were always warm, and to support keeping your food cold or frozen there was a communal fridge and freezer. And fir an extra charge you could request your dirty washing to be washed. Owners really helpful, and friendly.

Local attractions

To the beach first – this is the Lizard Peninsula after all, and highly scenic sands and cliffs are within easy reach including the very special Kennack Sands four and a half miles from base. The Lizard is the most popular part of the South West Coast Path and you should hike at least some of it while you're in the region, to see rare plants, coastal birds, and possible marine mammals in the water below. From Helston, hikers can ramble the ten miles to Falmouth via the Helford River, Pendennis Castle and fab River Fal views. Plenty of popular Cornish attractions are easy to get to from Skyburriowe Farm House, like the National Seal Sanctuary at Gweek and Flambards theme park at Helston, the National Maritime Museum at Falmouth and the swish Tate gallery at swish arty town St Ives. The Eden Project near St Austell is about an hour's drive to the north east. Also near St Austell, the Lost Gardens of Heligan are a splendidly different day out; greenery fans who don't want to drive too far can also mosey around Trebah and Glendurgan gardens, both near Falmouth, or the National Trust's Trengwainton Gardens at Penzance about half an hour's drive from Helston.
