  • Cornwall holiday park with beach access five minutes’ drive from Hayle
  • A 25-minute drive to Flambards Theme Park, Tate St Ives 20 minutes
  • Bar, bistro and shop on site, plus a play park and heated indoor pool
Private access to a three-mile sandy beach sound tempting? That's the fabulous feature you’ll get at St Ives Bay Holiday Park, set on sand dunes five minutes’ drive from Hayle in Cornwall. If you’re all piling in for a family holiday, you can spend days building sandcastles, running around on the beach with the kids and cooling off in the sea. Travelling as a couple? You’ll have spectacular sea views across St Ives Bay and you’re almost guaranteed colourful sunsets as a backdrop for romantic twilight strolls on the sand. And when kicking back and enjoying the views is not quite enough for you (and, let’s face it, the kids will want more), how about crazy golf, tennis or the amusement arcades? You can burn off more energy at the surf school or in the heated indoor swimming pool, and there are play areas scattered around the park to wear the kids out properly. With all this going on, make sure you leave time to unwind for a drink at the terrace bar with superb views over the bay and a menu of small, tapas-style snacks – there’s entertainment in the evenings too. Or you may like to make a night of it with the family over a freshly prepared meal at Sands Bistro? Forgotten an important ingredient or need milk for your morning cuppa? There’s a well-stocked independent shop on site that stocks all the essentials, including your daily newspaper.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: My partner and I recently had the pleasure of staying at St Ives Bay Holiday Park, opting for an electric pitch to set up our tent for a much-anticipated camping trip. As a young couple seeking a blend of adventure and relaxation, this holiday park exceeded our expectations in every way, providing us with a memorable and delightful experience that we eagerly want to share. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the lovely ladies at the reception. Their friendly smiles and genuine hospitality set the tone for our stay. They made the check-in process smooth and efficient, providing us with all the necessary information about the facilities and activities available at the park. Their enthusiasm and helpfulness were truly appreciated, making us feel valued as guests from the very beginning. One of the highlights of our stay was undoubtedly the stunning, expansive beach that St Ives Bay Holiday Park boasts. The beach is a true gem, offering breathtaking views and a serene environment that is perfect for long walks, sunbathing, or simply unwinding while listening to the gentle waves. The golden sands stretch as far as the eye can see, providing ample space for everyone to enjoy without feeling crowded. Whether it was an early morning stroll or a sunset picnic, the beach never failed to impress us with its natural beauty and tranquil ambiance. Another commendable aspect of our stay was the exceptional customer service provided by the park's staff. One particular instance stands out when we realized we had forgotten to bring an electric adapter for our pitch. The situation could have dampened our spirits, but thanks to the very helpful guard on duty, it turned into a positive experience. When we approached him for assistance, he promptly provided us with an adapter, ensuring that our camping setup was complete and functional. His willingness to go the extra mile to help us was a testament to the park's commitment to excellent customer service. Safety is always a priority when camping, and we were thoroughly impressed with the security measures in place at St Ives Bay Holiday Park. The guardhouse, stationed at the entrance, ensured that only guests were allowed into the park, maintaining a secure and exclusive environment. At night, the guard on duty diligently patrolled the grounds, providing a reassuring presence and making sure everything was safe and in order. Knowing that the park had such vigilant security gave us peace of mind and allowed us to fully relax and enjoy our time. The amenities and facilities at St Ives Bay Holiday Park were top-notch, catering to all our needs and enhancing our camping experience. The washrooms were clean and well-maintained, and the availability of hot showers was a luxury we greatly appreciated. The on-site shop was conveniently stocked with essentials and a variety of treats, making it easy to grab anything we needed without having to leave the park. Additionally, the park offered various recreational activities, ensuring there was never a dull moment during our stay. One evening, we decided to join in on the entertainment provided at the park's clubhouse. The lively atmosphere, coupled with the engaging performances, made for a fun and enjoyable night. In summary, our camping experience at St Ives Bay Holiday Park was nothing short of exceptional. The combination of a stunning beach, warm and welcoming staff, excellent customer service, and top-notch facilities made our stay unforgettable. The park’s commitment to safety and security ensured that we could relax and enjoy our time without any worries. We left with wonderful memories and a strong desire to return in the future. For anyone seeking a perfect blend of natural beauty, comfort, and outstanding service, St Ives Bay Holiday Park is the ideal destination. We highly recommend it and eagerly look forward to our next visit.

Disliked: No Reason to Leave: It’s so perfect you’ll never want to go home. Too Much Relaxation: You might get too relaxed and forget about all your worries. Unbearable Beauty: The stunning views can be too distracting. Endless Fun: So much to do, you might need another vacation to rest. Perfect Weather: You might get spoiled by the consistent, perfect weather.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Nice site with easy access to the beach. Lovely views from the bar/restaurant terrace. Wardens patrolled regularly to ensure everything was in order.

Disliked: Nothing we didn't like while we were visiting, however imagine the site could get very busy in high season, in particular at the bar/restaurant area. Toilet blocks at the touring area nearest the beach were a bit dated and could do with a refurb, although we did notice the other block was far more modern, so perhaps owners are planning an update. But they were clean enough and had plenty hot water.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked: We were right by the beach! Showers, toilets and wash-up area was close, clean and easy to use. We had a good amount of space and things to do around the actual park as well as drive to what we wanted. Could hear the sea as we slept.

Disliked: Unless you go to the pub area, signal was really bad there.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Close to the beach with level ground facilities were close by, they were clean worked well with plenty of hot water.

Disliked: Area for Motorhome and camping due to being near the beach where somewhat isolated from shop and other places of entertainment in fact when viewing rest of site they appeared neglected. It's pretty obvious that the site is focused on the chalet area for an undstandable reason but during the time I was there a steady stream of caravans Motorhomes and tents passed through.

Local attractions

When you can prise the kids away from the beach, chances are they may demand to be taken to Flambards Theme Park (25 minutes’ drive) to explore the Victorian Village and experience Britain in the Blitz, run riot on the thrill rides and dig for fossils at Dino Dig. For a sneaky lesson in Cornish history, spend time on the immersive Dark Walk at Bodmin Jail Attraction (50 minutes) and take a look around the dank prison cells, or travel back to Tudor times with Elizabethan-themed workshops at National Trust-owned Trerice (40 minutes). Come right back up to date with a tour of the masterpiece works of contemporary art at Tate St Ives (20 minutes). If it’s animal-related activities you’re after, meet rescue owls at the Screech Owl Sanctuary (40 minutes), or feed the seals at the Cornish Seal Sanctuary (half an hour). Take an underground safari to see sharks and colourful shoals of tropical fish at Blue Reef Aquarium Newquay (40 minutes), and see big cats in spacious enclosures at Newquay Zoo (35 minutes).
