Time to get stuck into the Cornish surf and St Ives’ arts scene? Pack up and head off to Hayle Rugby Club Campsite, a pop-up site that makes a great base for visitors to this part of the world. Handily located just off the A30 and on the edge of Hayle, this is a convenient spot indeed, with shops, pubs and restaurants a short walk away and a bus stop about 50 metres away for all your outings. You’ll probably want to start with the three-mile golden-sand beach, which is about a mile away and popular for surfing, sandcastles and scrambling among the sand dunes. After that, maybe the galleries (and more beaches) of St Ives will be on your schedule, or trips to some of Cornwall’s top spots including Land’s End and St Michael’s Mount. Whichever of these you choose, you should get there with a drive of 45 minutes or less. Hayle Rugby Club Campsite has nine acres of land with limited access, set up for simple tents-only camping. There’s a great dog-friendly clubhouse where you can grab a drink, and barbecues are welcome, as long as they are raised off the grass. You’ll also be able to grab tasty snacks from the Cornish Oven bakery on site (open seven days a week). On-site facilities include toilets, washing-up facilities and a tap for running water. There are also ladies' and gents' showers (separated by curtains), open from 8am until the club closure (note that they are shut on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6pm to 9pm due to rugby training).

Liked Great place to stay, was only meant to stay one night but extend it another night. Fantastic value for money and the staff are very welcoming. The bar is great.

Disliked When there's a rugby game on you can't shower and there's no privacy when there is a game it is very busy.

Liked Great location, central to retail park, food outlets & pub all in walking Distance, Clubhouse also open from 5pm with lovely outside area. Hayle beaches 10min drive.
Facilities are exceptionally clean, plenty of hot water in showers, but do expect basic as part of Rugby club facilities, couldn’t fault for value for money

Liked Price (you get what you pay for but at £11 a night u had nothing to complain about)

Friendly guy who runs it (even lent us an airbed as our broke)

Has a really friendly vibe and seems to attract a lovely type of guest

Location of the site is great for exploring Cornwalls west cost although the sites location is close to a main road so a little noisy but we knew that would be the case however we slept really well

Bakery onsite

Clubhouse is a great little place and brings everyone together so as a single mum and her son I didn’t feel isolated

Disliked Showers were ok all I would say it they could do with slightly bigger curtains and some hooks for your towel and somewhere to put your shower stuff within your cubicle

Liked Very clean, spacious, and affordable. The staff is super friendly, so you can safely leave your tent and explore without worries. Getting here is also very easy. Dog friendly beaches. The Cornish coast is packed with excellent options for outings, and you’ll be in a good spot here for getting out to lots of those. Sticking to the north coast, a day in St Ives (15 minutes’ drive) is a must, for the Tate St Ives and Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden as well as the beaches and boat trips. Heading to the south coast, there are more fabulous beaches like Praa Sands (20 minutes), along with attractions like St Michael’s Mount (20 minutes), a historic castle on a tidal island, and the Minack Theatre (50 minutes), built into the cliffside and a truly memorable place to catch a show. And of course, right there where north and south meet is Land’s End (45 minutes), with family attractions as well as the chance to snap a pic of the famed signpost. Green-fingered types and arty sorts may also like to take a trip to Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens (15 minutes) while those with energetic kids can find plenty to do at Paradise Park and JungleBarn Cornwall (10 minutes).
