Many folk who come to Cornwall seek a base for its north and south. And secluded is often an option too, given how popular the place is in the summer months. Add both those wants to splendid surroundings, a view over a grand valley, and the peace of the Cornish countryside… and you get Menallack Farm Caravan and Camping Site. The owners rightfully point out that this is a very pretty part of Cornwall – and the site's rightly pretty too, set over two scenic acres with a nature walk down its valley, through Bluebell Wood and to a stream at the valley's bottom. Firepits are available near the pitching field and in the woods. There are also showers, toilets and a washing-up area. It's only two and a half miles from here to both Trebah Gardens and Glendurgan Gardens, three miles from the nearest beach, and within easy day trip distance of most towns, resorts and attractions on the north and south Cornish coasts. A farm shop two miles away from Menallack Farm stocks a good range of local fruit and veg, free-range meat and poultry, bread, Cornish milk, butter and cream, homemade pasties, pies, cakes and quite a bit more. Beyond that, Falmouth is four miles away for supermarkets and the like.

Liked Spacious pitch, facilities in wooden huts was lovely and the children enjoyed the table and the outside toys available.

Disliked The main older block of toilets, not appropriate doors on showers in there.

Liked Plenty of space and the pitches were well designated. The toilets and shower block was clean and well appointed. I liked that names and pitch numbers were allocated on the post as you drive into the campsite instead of complex check in process. Firepits and electric at every pitch as far as I could tell although I didn't get a chance to use it as I was at a conference in Falmouth. A beautiful spot and quiet location. I felt safe on the site.

Camping pod

Liked The locality of the place, all facilities were clean and the cabin was great for a small break getaway.
The staff were really friendly and helpful, when we raised a very small issue they were on it very quickly.

Liked This site is just around the corner from where I live and the booking was a last minute decission due to late nght road works going on in my street.
Check in was simple, a quick call to the owner's mobile and I was on my pitch without a fuss, the field has quite a gradient, but don't let that bother as the pitches have all been levelled (confirmed by my spirit level). The pitch had lovely views across the valley and a picnic table and benches to the side of the pitch. Electric hook up was straight forward and reliable.
I wanted a bit of peace and quiet, and that's exactly what I got, sat nursing a cup of coffee as I watched the sun go down, the stillness of the night was only punctuated by call of a lonely owl hooting across the valley.
Plenty of bins for recycling

Disliked The toilet block is a little tired but, this is a basic site at a reasonable price, everything worked as it should and it was all very clean. So this is not a dislike, more of an observation.
