Electric grass pitch

Liked: Peaceful location and close to Bude for walking, plenty of space between pitches and site was very quiet when we stayed there.

Disliked: Showers at bottom end of site were cold every time I tried them, a bit better up the site though but nowhere to put your clothes and no lights either. The toilets weren’t great either with no indication of being cleaned - person leaving them like that in the first place needs to be toilet trained again though! Advertises various animals and my wife loves alpacas, sadly they’d all passed away much earlier in the year! One of the reason I booked this site. Hey ho

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Nice pitches especially ones at the bottom which are hedged on both sides. Grassed areas all near and tidy.

Disliked: The toilet and showers are like something from the 1970’s in wooden sheds. There was no hot water despite there being only a few outfits staying and even after our request to check it there was none. Only cold water tap in the toilets.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Location is ideal for a walk into Bude, directions well sign posted by the site. Quiet location even on the evenings Country setting but with all the amenities that was required (pot washing, showers, toilet, laundry) Showers were hot even though they are unique, in that they are in a wooden shed Farm location gives the children something to do on site Staff helpful and friendly

Disliked: Nothing, our stay was perfect

Electric grass pitch

Liked: The flowers were lovely. Children's play area was nice too. About a mile from Bude.

Disliked: The toilets were full of cobwebs with no hand soap or paper towels to dry your hands and the showers were filthy. The walls were grimy with soap scum. ( there was a sign saying leave this shower clean and tidy!!) Surely this is your job? The washing up area was open to the elements with no plugs in any of the 3 sinks ( one of which was out of order )

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Good place close to bude centre

Disliked: Toilets are poor and showers too, also don’t bother booking as a group because they will just scatter you all around the campsite. Old people at reception don’t have a clue what’s going on so try to talk to the younger girl!

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Location was great. I was worried as I read some previous reviews with less than desirable feedback but I found it to be absolutely fine. It's just what you expect for the money you pay.

Disliked: The toilets could do with some attention, the wooden floor has gone soft and one of the loos was sinking and had therefore come away from its plumbing so when you flush it kind of leaked on the floor.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Lovely campsite with great pitches, separated by lovely trees. Friendly staff, all very well looked after. Great driving distance into bude. Had a park which was ok.

Disliked: Showers were cold which was a shame but we managed. Only other thing to mention was they didn't inform of the pottery shop booking process on arrival. My daughter wanted to do it but you had to book at reception. We didn't know until our end of stay and we couldn't do it. Would of been nice to have been informed when we arrived of the process. Park could do with some TLC.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Planting between pitches was nice.

Disliked: On arrival given photocopied picture of site and told which was our pitch. No other information given. Sloping pitch. Showers and toilets were very very basic. Wooden shed with tin roof cheap bodge job. Showers slow to drain. Bin area overflowing. Right next to A39 so a lot of traffic noise.

Local attractions

The beaut beaches of Bude are rightly famed for their golden sands, clean water and surfing breaks: get along to Summerleaze and Crooklets within Bude for surf, and to the National Trust-managed Sandymouth for a quieter vibe via its steep ravine. The long sands and popular surfing waves of Widemouth Bay are a few miles from Bude, Crackington Haven is within eight miles, and the family-friendly beach of Northcott Mouth is a top spot nearby for rockpooling. In Bude town, spend a morning wandering around the harbour and Bude's buildings – including the oldest in town, Quay Cottage, and the heritage centre now housed in Bude Castle. Then, perhaps, a pint, lunch or pasty before tackling the local stretch of the also-famed South West Coast Path, from Bude Canal to Crackington Haven, and then further south to Boscastle and Tintagel…? Horse riding, cycling, ten-pin bowling, fishing, tennis and golf are all available in the region too: ask the Atlantic Camping team for its top tips.
