Electric grass pitch

Liked: Me and my wife wanted to get away in our camper for the weekend before the camping season ends, with Boscastle being one of our favourite places in Cornwall we couldn't resist. Never been to this site before and we would definitely say its one of our favourites now. Lovely owners of the site, very clean and tidy, very peaceful campsite. Will definitely be back next year.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked: The camping field has slight slope but was very big so lots of space and great sea view. Toilets, showers and general facilities were clean and the owner was friendly. It was a good, basic old fashioned type of camp site for those who enjoy the outdoor life and will definitely be returning.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: It was a friendly welcome, beautiful location, clean toilets and shower block, we could have campfires. It was a nice and peaceful area even though we could hear the farm animals it was a nice sound. There’s a lot of pitches but you didn’t feel like there was too many people around.

Disliked: There wasn’t a lot to dislike it was fantastic! If I was being really picky, it would be nice to have some hooks in the showers for clothes that are away from the showers, as my clothes got wet from the spray back! And there isn’t many shops nearby but they are apparently opening one on site which will be handy with more things in! We just wanted to do more of a big shop and had to drive 22 minutes to the nearest supermarket so just something to think of doing before you go!

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Great elevated location with views out to sea and Tintagel in the distance. Basic site but excellent clean modern showers. Would definitely stay here again. Great walks from the site to the costal path and Boscastle and a bus service too. Decent phone signal and TV if you need it.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked: We had the best time. Such a lovely site and the owners are just great. Really friendly and welcoming. So helpful too. We will happily stay here again. Facilities are great. Lovely to come out of the loo and shower and be undercover. We didn’t need an electric pitch but no problem the camping/touring field is huge and you can go anywhere! And it has the most amazing view. The bus stops just at the end of the drive but they aren’t very frequent but the drivers go over an above to drop you off where you want. There were road closures so we did a walk out and bus back rather than our usual bus out and walk back routine. You can walk straight from the site across the fields to the path about 1km. So perfect for the SWCP! Camping field is a gentle slope but found a great spot and levelled to perfection with our camper levellers. -4 on one side without on the spot we chose so could have managed without. It was blowing a hoolie on the North Coast when we stayed and we could have tucked in behind the hedge but we wanted a view. We don’t mind a bit of weather. It had rained quite a bit in the 48hrs before we arrived and we were worried the ground would be sodden but it wasn’t and the grass was perfect! No bald patches and lumpy ground! I’m with 3 mobile and the signal was ok.

Liked: Amazing views, quiet site, clean facilities and helpful owners.

Disliked: It was windy during our stay, but that goes with the territory in North Cornwall and worth it for the views 😊

Local attractions

One of the most famed things about Boscastle is its Museum of Witchcraft and Magic, open in Boscastle since 1960 and a popular stopoff point for tourists as well as those interested in witchcraft and the occult. The village should keep you going for a bit after a dip into the witchcraft museum, even if you just sit and stare at its scenic harbour from one of its two stone walls… If you fancy delving into a bit more history, the National Trust has a visitor centre in Boscastle's Old Smithy (and if not, there are a few interesting little shops around). The South West Coast Path is accessed from here – the walk to Arthurian Tintagel is much recommended – and those who want to stay active can source horse riding, fishing and golfing in the area too. This is of course surfing country as well, or you could stick to exploring the rockpools among the many sandy beaches around this part of coast.
