Electric grass pitch

Liked We had a brilliant stay at Mena Farm! The site has a lovely relaxed feel with pitches set amongst trees and hedges, so it feels private and peaceful. Facilities were spotless and well looked after, with plenty of hot water and a great little shop on site for the essentials.

The owners were really friendly and helpful, always around for advice on local walks and places to visit. The location is ideal – tucked away in the countryside but still close to the coast and Cornish attractions.

Perfect mix of being family-friendly but still quiet enough to properly unwind. Would definitely recommend Mena Farm to anyone looking for a chilled-out base to explore Cornwall. We’ll definitely be back!

Liked * clean facility.

Disliked *toilets together not so good for kids
*Silent after 10pm , we agreed its nice to have peace quiet after 10pm
but not to be request rued to stop conversation inside a own tent and tell my friends to leave NOW go to you tent ,
also my son being stop in the play area to get off and go to his tent its a bit customer services manner its missing there
I don't think is a polite way to treat you customers and if the noise interfere come and talk nice and polite
*pitch its ok size depend on if you know someone in the place so you will be locate in a large pitch as we have big tent and have to place in angle to suit the camping regs

From the manager: Hi Juarez - you booked two pitches to stay for 3 x nights over the bank holiday weekend so the site was full. The first night I received three complaints about the noise you were making after 10pm. I had to get out of bed to ask you to be quiet. You and the rest of your party were congregating in an event shelter and having a group sing-song at 11pm, and so yes, I asked you all to disperse. It was disappointing then that I was called out to you again the following night. We are very clear that quiet time is 10pm - it is included on our site description, on your booking confirmation, your advance arrival information, during the check-in briefing and on the information sheet you are given on arrival - so it really shouldn't have been a surprise to you. We lock the games barn at that time, ask any children in the play area to go back to their families, and ask everyone to keep the noise down from this point onwards. I'm glad that you agree 10pm should be quiet time, but would have preferred that you had adhered to it like everyone else. It is our responsibility to enforce our rules, if we did not, people would no doubt pull us up on that - there are plenty of campsites where you can go and be noisy but Mena Farm isn't one of them, and people choose to come here for that reason. In regards to our pitch sizes, it was your choice to put your larger tent on the smaller of the two pitches, reserving the larger pitch for a smaller tent. It is our legal responsibility to ensure fire regs are adhered to and this did result in your tent being at an angle. The fire regs are there for yours and everyone's safety. I'm sorry you did not enjoy your camping trip here at Mena, and I hope you find a campsite you enjoy more. Regards, Alison & Neil

Electric grass pitch

Liked This site is perfect for a quiet holiday, the children all congregate at the park and are perfectly safe.
There is a really friendly atmosphere.
Ideal to get away from the hustle and bustle of a "mainstream" site.
The owners never stop and the site is immaculate at all times.
Nothing is a bother for the owners and we have booked again for next year.

What customers say

This is a beautiful, clean, and well-maintained campsite with friendly and helpful owners. Pitches are spacious and the facilities, including showers and toilets, are consistently praised for their cleanliness. The site's quiet atmosphere and rural location are appreciated, yet it remains central for exploring Cornwall. Some guests noted the narrow access lane. The unisex nature of the facilities is clearly advertised.

Liked Absolutely lovely place!
We loved it. The little shop is great, sorted us with some bits that we forgot.
The showers and toilets are very clean , even though it was busy when we were there.
The people that run it were amazing! (unfortunately I did not ask their names 😕 sorry!) Super friendly and happy to help and inform when we need it.
I loved the waffles little Dotty van!! They also said they had other food during the week but the time we were there, they only had Dotty, with waffles, nachos and chilli.
The pitches were spacious, clean and very well kept
The cleaning areas were also very good.
We had a great time and absolutely loved it there!!
We didn't use WiFi and can't comment on that

Daisy bell tent

Liked Bell tent was very spacious and had great amenities
It was very spacious and also really quiet when we were there
There are campfires /bbq available to use at no extra charge
They lent us extra blankets are no extra charge also which were great in the cold weather

Disliked Showers weren’t amazing but it is a campsite so not complaining

From the manager: Hi Lucy - I'm sorry and surprised to hear that you experienced issues with the showers during your stay. If you'd only told us at the time, we could have checked and adjusted them for you. I'm sorry you weren't warm enough, but you had opted to bring your own bedding. Nonetheless, we were more than happy to supply you with extra blankets since it was particularly cold for the time of year. Hope you enjoyed your stay other than this and that we see you again at some point. With kind regards, Ali & Neil

Disliked Shower was lovely and hot but would be too hot for my grandson if he was with me. Could not adjust temp. Had to press the button too often. Not enough time to even get my hair wet

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Hi there - thank you so much for your kind review. I saw your note re the showers, and only wish you'd mentioned this during your stay so that we could have resolved any issues quickly. The single showers are set at the legal minimum, and we check the temperature and tweak them regularly. Normally, the flow lasts for around 30 seconds on each press, so we will check that they are operating properly. If you don't find your way back to Mena again, (and I hope you do!), please be aware that the family showers do have thermostatic controls on them, as well as a hand-held attachment for smaller family members. With kind regards, Ali & Neil

Winter electric optional hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Nice site, very peaceful, fairly level pitch. Owners friendly and helpful.

Disliked Could do with heating in the shower block.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Hi there - thank you for your kind comments about our little campsite. I saw your comment re heating in the shower block. Apologies for any confusion here, but we don't advertise heated shower blocks because they're not. There is no way we would be able to do this in a cost-effective way without significantly increasing our prices, particularly in winter when we're so quiet. Our showers are always lovely and hot though, as this quickly heats the shower cubicles during use. Kind regards, Ali & Neil
