  • Quiet woodland camping by a peaceful stream
  • Within half an hour's drive of Cornwall's north and south coasts
  • On the edge of a 600-acre woodland with paths, trails and a café
Located on the edge of Cardinham Woods, a 600-acre woodland in the centre of Cornwall, Langs Mill Camping is a peaceful site within easy reach of the A30 or A38 and 10 minutes' drive from Bodmin Parkway railway station. This 1.5 acre site is situated in a valley clearing, with lots of space to breathe in the forest air and relax as you listen to the peaceful stream flowing by. A short stroll away are Cardinham Woods' paths, café, kids' play area and mountain bike trail – leave the car on site, cross the little bridge (or wade through the stream) and you'll be surrounded by nature in no time. You might prefer to stay on site instead to soak up the peace and quiet, paddle in the stream, build a den or try your hand at stone stacking… Guests at Langs Mill Camping have access to well-maintained toilets and showers, a covered washing-up area and a large firepit where there's seating space for up to roughly 20. After a visit to a bakery, supermarket, outdoor shop or pub? Bodmin (10 minutes away by road) will have what you're looking for.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked: Beautiful surroundings on the edge of the forest, a lovely stream, great facilities (shower room as good as any hotel!), cooked all our meals on the fire pit and the outdoor fridge was a life saver in the hot weather! Lovely, helpful owners and the perfect for location for anyone looking for a peaceful camping experience in a lovely area full of wildlife.

Electric optional grass tent or campervan pitch

Liked: We had the most wonderful time at Langs Mill! Trevor and Claire made us feel very welcome the minute we arrived. It's so peaceful and quiet, very few tent pitches, very clean and well equipped facilities! The sound of nearby stream, beautiful forest and great hosts made our experience extra special! This is our most favourite campsite by far and we hope to be back soon.

Disliked: Nothing

Shepherd's hut

Liked: Stayed at Langs mill shepherds hut for two nights. The Shepherds hut is spotlessly clean, furnished to high standard and super cosy. It had everything you need with a a welcome pack of goodies provided on your arrival. On the first day we had planned to explore Cornwall but as the area is so stunning we decided to enjoy the woods walk and eat lunch on our outside space provided, listening to the trickling of the stream near by. Trevor was very helpful in suggesting some coastal walks and restaurants in the area. Would like to return sometime soon, and perhaps bring the rest of the family to camp adjacent to the shepherds hut as suggested on the site.

Disliked: None

Electric optional grass tent or campervan pitch

Liked: I was working remotely during our stay and enjoyed excellent wifi the entire time. Video calls were no problem at all! The hosts were lovely and made sure we had everything we needed. Quiet, peaceful, immersed in nature. Perfect!

Disliked: If you have a particularly large vehicle (like me!) you have to plan your route a little bit to make sure you come in from the Cardinham village side to make the sharp turn. It's a very narrow road, so be prepared for twigs on both sides. Tight, but possible for a confident driver.

Electric optional grass tent or campervan pitch

Liked: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at langs mill, it is the cleanest and most fabulous camping site we’ve ever been to! Clare and Trevor are also the nicest couple ever and were so accommodating and did everything they could, off their own backs to help make our trip special! Trevor even came over at 8am the second morning and gave us an awning for the kids to relax in whilst the weather wasn’t the best and even put it up for us in the pouring rain, the site was based in a fabulous area perfect for everyone and we pitched right next to the little river which was so relaxing. I truly could rave on about this place for a long time but it’s best to just visit yourself if you’re after a blissful stay in the heart of Cornwall!

Disliked: There wasn’t anything we could dislike about this place! We don’t have a bad word to say about it.

From the manager: Thank you Tammy for your lovely, positive review. We enjoyed having you and your lovely family to stay here and are so pleased you enjoyed yourselves. We really hope to see you again.

Liked: Beautiful peaceful location, ideal for dog walking in Cardinham Woods. Shower and toilet were modern, clean and very well maintained. The covered wash up area and fridge was a huge bonus - especially in the Cornish mizzle.

Non-electric grass tent or campervan pitch

Liked: Excellent showers and toilets were spotlessly clean.

Disliked: Don't expect your paint to go unscratched on the extremely narrow thorny access road.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Sorry about the paintwork, Robert, but I'm tempted to say that's a risk when you choose a remote location, and, of course hedge trimming is the highways or landowner's responsibility which in both cases was not ours. With regards price, we feel we are well priced given the quality of the toilets and showers that you mention. If you feel we could have done more on the customer care, we would love to here what. Hope you have a successful onward trip to Morocco. Sorry we couldn't have kicked it off with a 10/10 review. But I guess we can't win them all.

Electric optional grass tent or campervan pitch

Liked: The owners were extremely helpful and went out of there way to make sure we was setup on a good pitch that wouldn't get too soggy. Toilets and shower extremely clean, felt like you was showering in someone's house rather than at a campsite. Bonus cat friend was very welcoming

Disliked: Ground was rather rocky being so close to the stream but obviously nothing can be done about that, just have to work around the stones when trying to get pegs in

From the manager: Thanks for the review, Amy. Hope to see you again. Next time with sunshine!
