Liked Very nice location. Can have fires etc. Plus you can fish the river. Nice owners very helpfull. Better for families with children

Disliked Pitches to close together .... for me probably great mid week but I imagine great for families with kids at weekends. Fishing swims not great . To high above the river so need a long landing net. Also alot of canoes and people swimming so for fishing id say mid week.

Liked Back again and enjoyed very much. River views and nice walks. Despite the rain and the wind, we had a great time and Clare was friendly and helpful as always. Great site, very close to the rail station, great for those on foot, and very reasonable

Liked Site was clean and tidy people were friendly and was quiet in the evening, close to nice walks and the pub. We booked so we could go kayaking had easy access to the water from the site.

Liked Good toilet facilities. Nice washing station and we had a river spot so the boys could fish. Good location for the local pub.

Disliked Pitches very close together. Advertised a quite time from 10.30 but we had people shouting and screaming next to us at 2am both nights. Made site aware but it didnt change the second night. Perhaps more space would sort this or make sure people follow the quiet rules.

Liked safe and secure river fronted site family friendly

Disliked toilet facilities in need over a overhaul. No washing facilities (as advertised) the toilets were poorly lit and rather old but were kept clean and well stocked

Liked Friendly campsite in a peaceful river side setting. The owners were helpful and welcoming. Nice riverside pub down the road, just a 5-10 minute walk.

Disliked Showers would be of benefit.

Local attractions

Pay a visit to the biggest collection of teapots in England. If such a thing wasn’t on your travel wishlist previously, it will be now – after all Teapot Island is only five minutes’ walk away. Also close by is The Hop Farm (five minutes’ drive), likely to be a hit with young kids due to its small farm animals and soft play. Adults will be happy to find things catering to their taste too. Fishing activities are available at Claygate Lakes (10 minutes) and at Mereworth Wines (10 minutes), taste test local wines and potions in the winery and taproom. If it’s the historical sort of stuff you’re mostly interested in, Leeds Castle (25 minutes) and Scotney Castle (25 minutes) will get that in full swing. Straight out of the 17th century, Knole Park (half an hour) is a National Trust site with a deer park, gatehouse tower and attics. Sissinghurst Castle Garden (half an hour) is another historical spot, with a Grade I-listed park and gardens. As for peaceful walks by the river and picnics in meadows, head to Teston Bridge Country Park (10 minutes).
