Pitches

  • Pet-friendly campsite in the Kent Downs National Landscape
  • A 10-minute drive from the coast; 20 minutes from Port Lympne Reserve
  • Firepits available to borrow; in a peaceful village location
Pet-friendly pitches within a 10-minute drive of the south coast? You’ll be sorted at Paddlesworth Court Farm, a spacious and green site set in the gorgeous Kent Downs National Landscape. When it comes to classic camp activities, Paddlesworth Court Farm scores full marks – campfires and barbecues are allowed at this laidback site, and firepits are available to borrow if you haven't brought your own (subject to availability; it's advisable to bring your own just in case). Basic amenities like toilets are available too, as is water and a waste disposal point. The farm is in the small village of Paddlesworth, which is roughly a mile and a half from Hawkinge's pubs, restaurants and supermarkets. The larger coastal town of Folkestone (10 minutes) is within easy reach too if you fancy an afternoon stroll along the seafront or want to explore the local area by train. This site is in a recognised dark sky area, so you're likely to be treated to some impressive cosmic displays. As well as being an excellent destination in its own right, Paddlesworth Court Farm is a very convenient stop-off point for cross-Channel trips and is 15 minutes' drive from the Eurotunnel passenger check-in terminal or 20 minutes from Dover. For your four-legged friends. good dog-walking trails are nearby and kennels are available on site.

What customers say

This is a budget-friendly campsite offering a lot of space and freedom to pitch where you like. The owner is frequently described as friendly and helpful. However, facilities are consistently reported as basic and in need of improvement, with particular criticism of the toilets and a lack of hot showers. Some guests experienced issues with insufficient electric hook-up points. Noise from late-night parties has also been an issue for some visitors.

Electric optional grass tent or trailer tent pitch (six person)

Liked Nothing - told to call a number on arrival… rang over 12 times no answer. Asked someone on site they said told us just go find somewhere… Booked electric couldn’t fit anywhere near electric hook up. Told to move tables and chairs to fit in tiny gap that was available still wouldn’t fit in gap! Would’ve been literally touching other campers caravans or tents. Site was a complete mess wood everywhere remains of a bonfire in field. Kids wouldn’t be safe to play there. We didn’t even bother. We left 5minutes after arrival. We’re not fussy when camping hence we wasn’t bothered about the no showers just wanted a little weekend together before school and work return. Toilets were quite away from the field and was 1 port’a’loo from the outside looks as if it’s never been cleaned. Do not recommend just glad we only paid a deposit and the rest would’ve been cash once pitched! 4 gutted kids but even they said let’s go home this is not nice.

Disliked Everything - didn’t stay we went home.

Electric optional grass motorhome pitch

Liked Location and price, the host John was most pleasant and welcoming. So close to the Le Shuttle terminal and so cheap.

Disliked Just need a bit of tlc, there's a long term dweller on site and really needs to take more care of his pitch and surrounding area.
The toilet facility needs modernisation

Electric optional grass motorhome pitch

Liked niets

Electric optional grass motorhome pitch

Liked Stayed two nights, no problems at all. Lovely location and even better sun set! Don’t be put off by the negative reviews. The site is exactly what it says on the tin! You want a luxury stay, go stay in a luxury hotel/site and pay 4 times the amount as here. Owners were great, let you set up where you like. Will definitely be returning. Thanks.

Disliked Absolutely nothing.

Electric optional grass tent or trailer tent pitch (two person)

Liked The setting was lovely, the guy who ran the site was friendly.
Low amperage electric but wasn’t an issue with low power appliances.
Freedom to pitch anywhere.
Lovely back to basics setup.

Disliked Loud band practice late at night and dogs barking all night, neither of which is mentioned on the site booking.
Dogs roaming free and leaving mess in front of tent, owners of dogs not concerned about cleaning it up.
