  • Small family-run East Sussex site between Hailsham and Polegate
  • Eastbourne, Drusillas Park and South Downs within 15 minutes' drive
  • Access to Cuckoo Trail via footpath; walk/bike on paths to the towns
Take a slice of the easy life in East Sussex with a stay at Peel House Farm – this compact family-run site is surrounded by peaceful farmland, but it’s only a few minutes’ drive from both Hailsham and Polegate for handy access to shops, places to eat and other amenities. You can also reach both towns in a few minutes by bike, along a gravel/tarmac path of a mile, making this a suitable site for those travelling without a car (Polegate has a railway station, and there are bus connections to Hailsham). Even closer than either of those towns is the Cuckoo Trail, a popular 14-mile mostly traffic-free trail that makes a wonderful way to see some of the local scenery. It’s easily accessed from the site via a public footpath. More places to walk? You’ll be in prime position between the South Downs National Park and the High Weald National Landscape, so there are plenty of options nearby. And with the coast just a few miles away as well, you can also take strolls around Eastbourne, Beachy Head and the Seven Sisters cliffs. Pick up supplies while you’re out and about, because barbecues are permitted on site and make a lovely way to finish your outdoor day. There’s a small play area and a recreation field on site where kids can tire themselves out for a decent night’s sleep, and the bathroom block has been thoughtfully kitted out with heating and family-sized cubicles with baby-changing facilities. The covered washing-up area has hot water, and you’ll also have access to wifi if you need it.

What customers say

This campsite offers a peaceful and quiet environment with spacious, well-maintained pitches. Visitors frequently praise the friendly and helpful owners, clean facilities, and good accessibility to local walks and public transport. While generally well-regarded for its tranquil atmosphere and beautiful views, some reviews mention the facilities, particularly the showers, could benefit from updates and more frequent cleaning. Despite minor criticisms, many guests express a desire to return.

Electric grass and earth pitch

Liked Small quiet campsite. Lady on arrival helpful and polite.

Disliked Dated and not very clean toilet area and facilities.
We were pitch 4. Electric hook up one side that we thought was ours not working, too late and dark to report/sort - in the morning realised that pitch 2&3 were using electric hook up 3&4 but this was really far from pitch 4, as positioned inbetween pitch 2&3. Reported by phone in the morning as no-one around but no reply. So paid for electric but didn’t have access to it.
Not value for money, wouldn’t return.

Electric grass and earth pitch

Liked Lovely little place if you want peace and quiet, near to Eastbourne seafront and easy to park, we also went to Sovereign Harbour for the best fish and chips, was about 20 minutes drive. The lady that runs it is lovely.

Disliked At times road noise but it didnt bother me. The showers and loo's are old and could do with updating.

Liked The quietness of the site. The owners were lovely and always checking the site. Helpful when we arrived and gave an extension lead for the electricity so our lead could connect. Lovely clean facilities and great accessibility to local area.
