What customers say

This is a highly recommended, peaceful rural campsite set in beautiful countryside with plentiful wildlife and excellent walking opportunities, including nearby pubs. Pitches are level, and guests can choose spots in sun or shade. Facilities, including compost toilets and hot showers, are consistently described as clean and well-maintained, though a few guests noted the compost toilets could be busy during peak times. Friendly and helpful hosts enhance the experience. Some minor suggestions include improved lighting in toilet areas and wash-up spaces, and a mention of patchy Wi-Fi.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked Sehr schöner naturbelassener Campingplatz! Gerne wieder!!

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked Beautiful campsite.

Solo camping with my boys can sometimes be tricky, but this site was peaceful & safe for them to enjoy. My middle son is autistic so being able to choose where we can pitch meant we weren’t right on top of everyone & he could stim to his hearts content. Tho during our stay I was surprised it wasn’t more busier, we had no more than 5 other pitches there.
It was my 7 month old baby’s first camp trip & he enjoyed being outside & feeling the grass. Even my teenager enjoyed himself enough & asked if we could go back.

The pitches are flat, we loved being partly under the trees. The facilities are clean, the showers were lovely & hot. We really enjoyed being able to have a camp fire & toast marshmallows.

The lack of phone signal was refreshing for me, the boys struggled slightly, but it was stronger around the facilities area so they popped up there when they needed a fix.

Disliked It’s not a dislike, more a suggestion of a little bin for the paper towels, other campers were just leaving them on the side rather than placing them in the bin in the toilets.
I personally would have found a rail/grab bar hand for the steps up to the toilet too.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked Loved everything about the site- beautiful land, well thought out toilets and washing up area, amazing showers. The owners are lovely, and so is everyone else that seems to go there! Lovely short walk to a lovely pub- The Star Inn at Waldron. Dog friendly. No road noise. Hardly any planes and not too close. Good for star gazing! Loved it, we’ve been back again already.

Disliked Nothing!

Local attractions

This is some splendid countryside, so those of you in search of walks, bike rides, horse rides and other outdoor antics should find plenty of suitable spots nearby. The farm is just on the edge of the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and the South Downs National Park is close by too. Also not far off is the south coast – a drive of a little over half an hour gets you to walks around the Seven Sisters cliffs, Cuckmere Haven and Beachy Head or days on the beach in Bexhill-on-Sea and Eastbourne. If you’re into poking around on fancy estates, pay a visit to Rudyard Kipling’s former home Bateman’s (20 minutes’ drive), the National Trust estate Sheffield Park (half an hour) or the gorgeous gardens of Wakehurst (40 minutes). If you’ve got kids to entertain, tastes may skew more towards days out at Knockhatch Adventure Park (20 minutes), animal encounters at Drusillas Park (20 minutes) or rides on the Bluebell Railway (half an hour).
