What customers say
This campsite offers beautiful, unspoiled views and a peaceful atmosphere, with many guests praising its immaculately clean portaloos and general tidiness. Owners are frequently described as friendly and hard-working. While some find the site basic for the price, others appreciate the "back to basics" feel. The site is well-located for walks and bike rides, and a pub and shop are within walking distance. Showers are anticipated for the next season.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Picked this site as close to home and just wanted a night away. Perfect site loads of room, had a few games handy for kids, bat and ball football nets, and other bits. my boy was in his element. Portaloos very clean owner checked them and bins regularly. Was quiet so my boy had loads of room to run around. Will definitely be back. Basic site which we prefer.

Beautiful site but owners were a bit grumpy!
Non-electric grass motorhome pitch
Liked Site was lovely. Beautiful views, clean toilets, games box was fab for the children, washing up trailer was cute!
Disliked I don’t know if we caught her on a bad day but when we arrived the owner drove round to us and said “is it Katy?” I turned around and said yes expecting a hello welcome type of thing but the first thing she said was “you haven’t paid for the car” I apologised and said I didn’t realise and that we could pay now. My partner gave her some cash and she just drove off.
The next day my children were collecting wood for the fire and she came over saying they weren’t allowed in the next field, we apologised and said we didn’t realise and she carried on. Told us we shouldn’t be collecting sticks for a fire 😩.

From the manager: Thank you for your review Katy.
Apologies If I came across gumpy, that wasn't my intention.
I had spent quite a bit of time trying to sort out your refund prior to your arrival, after you had booked twice in error.
You are failing to mention in your review thought, that it wasn't just sticks you had been collecting to burn on a fire. There was also fence posts that had been pulled out of the ground, from our boundary fence sat in your pile of wood. Fence posts that where still insitu when we check our boundary fences earlier that day.
This then left us, at 7.30 at night having to replace the fence posts to ensure sheep could not get on to the camping field.
No shower but we knew this. Immaculately clean

Good value and outstanding views of the western and central fells.
Non-electric grass motorhome pitch
Liked Lovely views and natural surroundings. Possibility of moving to a different pitch if you wanted to. Near to nice bike rides and walking distance of decent pub and little shop at the garage in Grizebeck.
Disliked No shower, quite crowded and noisy over bank holiday weekend but by Sunday evening was quiet again.
Noisy roadworks nearby could be annoying during the week.
Charging for ebikes would be handy.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked I liked everything about this site - lots of flat areas to camp, fabulous views, clean toilets, great location, and friendly owners. We had 2 nights here and was very chilled site where we could have firepit.
Apparently they are opening showers next season which will improve this site even further. Thanks
