Time for a grownup getaway – no kids in tow? What’s it to be: a city break or a rural retreat? How about mixing up a bit of both with a stay at Oakwood Farm?
This adults-only glamping site is in a quiet and green Cheshire location, but it’s also handily only about a 15-minute drive from Chester for days wandering the city’s attractive streets, hitting the shops or trying your luck at the races. And that’s not the only city close by, either – easy access to the nearby M53 and M56 also mean that Liverpool and Manchester aren’t far off. In the other direction, it’s also pretty straightforward to get into north Wales for walks or days at the beach.
All in all, a most convenient location, then… and it gets even better when you learn that you won’t have far to go to get a good breakfast, lunch or cream tea. In fact, all of those are available at Foxes, the farm’s own tearooms and café, serving up tasty treats from 9am to 2pm (closed on Mondays).
Convenient is a good word for the accommodation, too, as the pods here kitted out with most of what you should need for your stay, including bedding and towels. Each pod has its own ensuite bathroom and kitchenette (with fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster), plus a TV, a dining table and heating to keep things cosy.
Fancy some time out in the fresh air? Your private garden area has outdoor seating, a barbecue and – surely the deal-clincher – a hot tub where you can bubble away under the stars…
