  • Farm site in Cragg Vale, 10 minutes' drive from Hebden Bridge
  • Surrounded by countryside with easy access to the Pennine Way
  • On-site shop with freshly made goods; country pub five minutes’ walk
You surely won’t forget that you’re staying in a rural location at Turley Holes Farm, a wonderful West Yorkshire site in the centre of Cragg Vale. There are reminders everywhere: the on-site shop called the Rusty Hen, the nearby country-style pub and – of course – the resident pigs, horses and donkeys Dolly and Daisy. Set a 10-minute drive away from the popular village of Hebden Bridge, this farm site is peaceful, with excellent views over the surrounding countryside. The farm is right next to the Pennine Way, a five-minute walk from the local country pub and a handy base for exploring Hebden Bridge’s lively markets, historic stone buildings, old packhorse bridge and walks. Hebden Bridge is known as a foodie destination too, so don't forget to try some local eats while you're there. Speaking of food, the on-site Rusty Hen sells yummy bits like freshly made pies, pastries and cakes, as well as fresh veg, hot and cold drinks, tinned food, sweets and essentials like washing-up liquid, loo roll and toiletries. Pre-order farm-reared sausages for your barbecues and hot breakfast butties for the next morning (get your order in the night before, ta).

What customers say

This is a welcoming, relaxed campsite offering excellent value and a "wild camping" feel. Guests praise the friendly owner, animals to see, and communal campfire. Breakfast delivery and a local pub discount are highlights. Toilet facilities are basic and a recurring point of feedback, with plans for improvement. The site is well-suited for children and those seeking a peaceful, remote getaway with lovely views and walks.

Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked Lovely little relaxed site we arrived to a warm welcome and given details of how we could order wood and breakfast in the morning! The wood came quicker than an uber delivery and the breakfast bang on 8.30 😊

The site is basic there is a compost toilet that did have toilet paper but if you have your own camping toilet take it along! ( on speaking to the lovely lady who owned the site she is looking to solve the toilet situation ) during the day the sheep and donkeys roamed round the field which the kids loved and the bird song is amazing then in the evening the bats and the owls calling out is brilliant.

The site is a short walk of a bit hilly to the shop and pub (I did manage to make it there and back with some breather stops 😂) the pub does delicious food with lots of choice and a kids menu. You also get 15% off if you tell them you on the site.

It was a perfect little get away with a feeling of being remote and still safe. Amazing value for your money

Disliked The only small issue was the toilets but that is being resolved and we had a camping one so we coped

There is a table at the entrance with games, toys and snacks for the kids. I didn’t like that there wasn’t a honesty box there as we felt like we were nicking them 😂😂😂 ( please put an honesty box in sure people would use it xx)

From the manager: Thank u so so much it was just amazing meeting you all and I’m charging you top dollar for the tuck box next time then 😝

Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked Mel was really lovely and welcoming. The campsite was perfect for my son and his mates to have the freedom to play football and explore the area, whilst the adults sat and took in the scenery. It’s a 10 min walk to a lovely pub too.

There was a communal campfire for everyone to sit around at night and toast marshmallows. Then Mel delivered our breakfast the next morning. We came prepared so the lack of running water didn’t worry us. The campsite was cheap and cheerful, exactly what we were looking for!

Disliked There were a lot of midges at night, so bring repellent or stay near the campfire.
The campsite toilet is basic, but it has everything you need.

Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked The host was excellent and this meant the atmosphere on site was really lovely and communal. Games for the children were available and a big campfire in the middle where you could gather in the evening. A very relaxed site, meaning dogs can be off lead if friendly which was great for us. Loved that the children could all play together and because the site is fairly small they can be seen at all times. It's a bit more of a wild camping set up which we are used too so it worked great for us, just pitch up where you like and spend some time in the wild with like-minded people. The pub nearby was excellent. We came with our 1 year old so only booked the 1 night to see how she got on in a tent and she loved it. Location was great and views were lovely.

Disliked If your looking for a site with all the facilities this might not be the camp site for you, no showers and the toilet facilities were basic, but this is made clear at the point of booking. But if your looking for more of a relaxed site with a wild camping feel, I'd definitely recommend 👍

Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked Lovely walks directly from the site on to the moors. Gorgeous sunset view from the site. Really friendly owner.

Disliked Only one tiny porta-potty for over 20 people. This is not the facilities advertised, which was a compost toilet - this would not have filled up so frequently and would have been higher from the ground, so much easier and more pleasant to use. Handwash facilities had no soap or hand sanitiser.
Ground was extremely lumpy, impossible to find anywhere reasonably level.
Sheep were in the field, a tic risk. Field also full of nettles, thistles, sheep poo and some rubbish.
When we booked there were no reviews as it was a new pop-up site.
Had I known it was going to be wild camping, but in close proximity to other campers, I wouldn't have chosen the site.

Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked Fantastic campsite with bright prospects!
Despite being a work in progress, this campsite completely blew us away. The owner is incredibly welcoming, friendly, and supportive. A major highlight was the breakfast sandwich delivery service straight to our pitch! The shop, run by the owner, covers all the essentials, and the current toilet facilities are clean and perfectly fine to use. With more upgrades coming over time, it's clear the owners care deeply about their guests. Exceptional customer service—highly recommended to everyone!

Liked We had a lovely stay and were very impressed, especially considering the site is still a work in progress. The owner gave us an exceptionally warm welcome and was always friendly, helpful, and supportive throughout our stay.

The shop on the way up to the campsite stocked useful essentials, and the breakfast sandwiches we ordered were excellent and delivered directly to our pitch, which was a great touch.

The toilet facilities were clean and perfectly usable, and it was reassuring to hear that further improvements are already planned over the coming weeks. It's clear that a lot of care and effort is being put into developing the site, and we look forward to seeing how it progresses.

Overall, this is a promising campsite with fantastic customer service, and we would happily recommend it to others.

Liked Loved the location, beautiful, quiet and the kids loved seeing the donkeys.
Some beautiful walks close to the site.

Mel who runs the site is amazing, she goes above and beyond for you and couldn't have had a better experience for our kids first camping trip. Thanks Mel!

Disliked Compost toilet gets full quite quickly but is emptied on a regular basis, only thing I would recommend is on busier times maybe have two toilet areas so they don't get full so quick.
