Campsite with fire pit

  • Peaceful pop-up site on a working family farm in Brontë Country
  • Haworth 15 minutes’ walk and Hebden Bridge 20 minutes’ drive
  • Pitches edging the River Worth; raised firepits and barbecues allowed
Ready to unwind riverside on a family-run West Yorkshire farm? Get yourselves along to Milking Hill Farm, a pop-up site tucked into a secluded valley on the banks of the River Worth and providing a stunning setting for reconnecting with nature. Cars are not allowed on the riverside camping field, so on arrival, you’ll need to park up and move your gear to the pitches in wheelbarrows. Numbers on the tree-sheltered camping field are limited, ensuring that all guests have privacy to unwind and relax. Facilities include a modern block with loos and hot showers, and there are bins nearby for recycling. Campfires are encouraged, and you can hire raised firepits on site. This rural spot is home to an abundance of wildlife, from herons to hares, ducks to deer, plus adorable lambs that gambol in neighbouring fields. The pitches are dog-friendly (please keep them on leads), and as you’re surrounded by the rugged high moorland of Brontë Country – the inspiration for ‘Jane Eyre’ and ‘Wuthering Heights’ – you have direct access to walking routes directly from the camping field. The historic village of Haworth, where the Brontës once lived, is 15 minutes away on foot, where steep cobbled streets have a mix of independent shops and old-world eateries. For anyone wishing to stray further, lively Hebden Bridge (20 minutes’ drive) has a range of pubs, restaurants and shops, while Skipton, gateway to the Yorkshire Dales National Park, is 35 minutes away by car.

What customers say

This campsite is praised for its beautiful, peaceful riverside location and proximity to Haworth. Visitors consistently highlight the immaculately clean facilities, friendly and helpful hosts, and spacious pitches. The sound of the nearby river is a recurring positive. Some guests noted a lack of hot water at washing-up sinks and no Wi-Fi or mobile signal, which some see as a benefit for a digital detox. A narrow lane and hairpin bend approaching the site are mentioned as a minor access concern.

Non-electric grass campervan pitch

Liked Site is beautiful right on the river next to a working sheep farm and the owners were lovely. Showers and toilets were clean and modern, outdoor sink for washing up and tap for drinking water.
Fire pits provided with logs, it wasn’t much cost wise.

Disliked Nothing we didn’t dislike at all. Some people probably wouldn’t like no WiFi but that’s not important to us when we go camping

Liked Beautiful stream side setting, friendly owners, cake shack!
Easily able to walk into town, ability to have a fire pit was lovely.
Toilets always clean, and hot showers wonderful.

Disliked The bank holiday weather - but the fire and the nearby pubs made up for it!
