  • Well-maintained and quiet West Yorkshire family site in Ripponden
  • A 20-minute drive to Halifax, and 25 minutes to Hebden Bridge
  • Pubs, takeaways, supermarket and farm shop within five minutes’ walk
Chasing a bit of West Yorkshire peace and quiet, but still wanting lots to do? Riverside Glamping and Caravan Park is a clever spot to consider, as it’s in a peaceful hillside spot on the edge of Ripponden, yet still near sports fields, walking routes and cycling trails – and Leeds and Manchester are both under an hour’s drive away if you’re craving some big-city action (or looking for a quick escape from such). Tucked among the woodland and meadows, well-maintained modern facilities at the site include a communal shower block, washing-up facilities and waste disposal. You can also deal with any dirty clothes at the launderette (five minutes’ walk). Chores sorted, there's all sorts of stuff to do right next door. Play tennis and bowls, and give kids the chance to kick a ball around Mill Fold Park and Playground or watch them practise their moves at the skatepark. Ripponden (five minutes’ walk) is the springboard to walking and mountain-biking routes, and there’s coarse and fly fishing on the River Ryburn for anglers. The village is also well endowed with local supermarkets, a farm shop and a choice of Indian takeaways, pizzerias and homely pubs. Dogs are very welcome at Riverside, by the way, but please clean up after them. This is a quiet site, so you'll also be asked to keep noise levels to a minimum after 10pm.

What customers say

This is a quiet, friendly, and well-maintained campsite with a prime riverside location, just a short walk from Ripponden's pubs and shops. Visitors praise the clean, modern shower and toilet facilities, many with underfloor heating. Pitches are generally flat and well-serviced, with some noting they can be narrow. The site is dog-friendly and offers excellent local walking routes. Some feedback mentions limited signage and potential queues for facilities during peak times.

Fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Quiet peaceful spot by the river with pubs and shops within a few minutes walk. We did a fantastic 8 mile circular walk direct from the site.

Disliked Only two combined shower and toilet rooms-this was fine for our stay but don’t think would be enough when site full and pods booked as well. Only one washing up sink. No on site staff.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Nothing.

Disliked Allocated pitch was too far from electric post therefore had to move motorhome off of the pitch.
Bucket with dirty water found in both toilets. Shower and toilets were absolutely filthy.
Definately would not stay here again.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Second visit to this site, first one being in our tent, this time we were in our camper van, we where on the same pitch as first time (1) when it was much dryer then it was this time, pitch was pretty water logged, very friendly owner who give my partner lots of useful advice with us been new to the van life, we do love this site and Rippingdon in general, we got the bus to Halifax and there’s some great local pubs!

Disliked Only the two shower/toilet blocks absolutely no problem this time but would be more so when busier.

Fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Friendly welcome. Good location, easy walk in to village for pubs, food, Co-op etc. Good for walks along the river. Easy access via public transport to local towns .

Our dog loved it!

Toilets/showers/washing up area clean .

Disliked Didn't dislike anything .

But just a couple of points to bear in mind . There is no toilet seperate from the showers, if you are in a camper with no loo, you may have to wait first thing in a morning for someone to have a shower, leg crossing was required 😉

Couldn't see a recycling area so brought ours home!

Electric hardstanding motorhome pitch

Liked Location, pitch. Easy booking in / out. Value. Lovely local facilities. Walking local & bus routes to Halifax, Hebden Bridge. Picnic bench on pitch. Clean showers and hot water for washing up

Disliked Grass part of pitch can be very wet / muddy. Depends on weather obviously, but hard standing is great.
