Liked: This was a lovely immaculate run site with a really family feel ran by people who really cared and nothing was too much trouble. We were welcomed both on and and off the site. The weekend brought very wet weather and campers who found themselves struggling to get off the site were quickly assisted. The portaloos and dishwashing area were regularly cleaned and all campers were regularly checked upon.

From the manager: Thanks so much for sharing your lovely comments as we really do appreciate your feedback. It was great to meet you all and you truly are the most resilient campers as the weather during the bank holiday weekend was awful. You were all so positive and cheerful and the children had a great time. Thank for staying with us and we hope that you visit again soon - we'll book great weather next time! :)

From the manager: Thanks so much for sharing your feedback as it's so helpful, especially to families with children of all ages. Our camping fields are safe and secure for children to play in and enjoy a bit of freedom. Bolam Lake Country Park which is just across the road is great for lovely walks and spotting wildlife. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay even though the weather was not so kind and we hope that you stay with us again very soon. Many thanks.

From the manager: Thanks so much for sharing your feedback and we are pleased that you enjoyed the location of our little campsite. It was lovely to meet you - just a shame that the weather was not so kind to campers this weekend. We are a Wanderlust campsite based in the Northumbrian green belt so we offer our guests basic but very clean facilities. We hope to offer more facilities in the future. Thank you for staying with us.
A fabulous site for no fuss camping.

Liked: This was my first experience as a solo camper. Jill and David are a lovely couple that have an amazing site. It’s clean and well managed and they do their best to make you feel welcome and make sure you have everything you need. I’ve never known site owners to come around and chat to visitors like they do. I felt so safe and comfortable. The toilets are extremely clean and well kept too. It’s right across the road from Bolam Country park which was ideal because I had my dog with me. I will definitely be back!

Liked: Site is lovely. Just a grass field, but facilities are excellent and the nature nearby is great. Even the toilets are clean. Hosts are lovely people, they offer lots of help and guidance.
Disliked: I was hoping for a quiet, relaxing stay with my wife and 3 year old. It was advertised as a quiet, no party site with quiet hours. It might have been, before the large group of teens (I guess some of them must have been over 18) arrived and decided to have loud, base heavy music until late, then even after we got them to turn it off, the loud and drunken behavior went on until early hours. Their fire was on until late, they were disruptive for everyone around them and they didn't care who was annoyed. Having experienced similar problems in the past at other sites we picked an off-grid site with no bar and quiet hours. I suppose this type of thing is just a staple for campsites these days. Some may be able to put up with it. It will be fine if you stay up past midnight anyway or are a heavy sleeper. I feel bad to leave a negative review, because it's not the hosts' fault, but had I read a review like this before booking I may have chosen a different site.

From the manager: We are very sorry that your stay was disturbed by these inconsiderate campers. We send out comprehensive information to all of our guests who book with us that clearly states that all campers must respect quiet time from 10pm – 7.00am and unfortunately on this occasion this small group have not respected this rule. We are on call 24/7 and if we are made aware of such behaviour we would speak to the campers directly and if they were not prepared to respect quiet time they would be asked to leave the campsite immediately. Thank you for your feedback as it is important to us - we are just sorry that we could not have resolved this issue during your stay with us.
