We chose this site because it’s…
Electric optional hardstanding and grass touring pitch
Liked We chose this site because it’s only about 30 minutes from home, making it perfect for a weekend trip with our two-year-old. As first-time visitors, we were really impressed right away—the site is clearly well cared for and maintained.
The pitches are a great size, with plenty of space even with an awning. The owners were warm and welcoming, making sure we knew where to find them if needed, and also providing a contact number for convenience.
The facilities were another highlight. The toilets and shower were very clean, and it was great to have properly hot water at the dishwashing area—something that’s not always guaranteed at campsites.
We’re on EE and didn’t get any phone signal, but for us that was actually a bonus. It made for a peaceful, quiet stay, which is exactly what we were hoping for.
We’d definitely return in the future.

Liked Very spacious pitches. Beautiful well kept site. Small river running along one border.

Loads of space for socializing and games.
Nature reserve just over the road with lovely walks.
Loads of bird life.
Met Peter one of the owners. What a lovely bloke.
Really secure, gate remains locked.
Very little light pollution so great for watching the stars.
Morpeth, Amble, Blyth all within 15 miles.
Disliked None.

Electric optional grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Great location, quiet site, friendly staff, plenty of space.
Disliked Not a dislike - seen a few reviews on the toilet and shower block, yes it's basic but you're camping not glamping (clean and has hot water) if you've ever been wild camping this is a luxury!

Electric optional hardstanding and grass touring pitch
Liked Lovely little campsite. We stayed after a few days on the road so we're ready for a shower etc. Immaculately clean, quiet and friendly.
Disliked There was only one shower but it wasn't occupied when I needed it. Could get tricky during the morning rush.

Peaceful, spacious and uncommercial site great for families and dogs.
Electric optional grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Loved this site, it’s refreshingly uncommercial with really spacious pitches, so you don’t feel crammed in at all. Sarah, the warden was fantastic and made us feel very welcome. You can buy firewood on site and even borrow a fire pit (I think there was just one or two).
There’s also a large unpitched grassy area at the back which is perfect for kids to kick a football around, and it was lovely being able to see the horses and goats in the nearby field. There are also a couple of lovely walks just a few minutes from the site, ideal for kids and dogs.
Despite being close to the A1, it was incredibly peaceful, just birdsong in the morning and pheasants wandering by. A great balance of tranquillity and convenience for travel (Morpeth centre 13 mins in the car)
Disliked There’s just one male shower and toilet, and one female shower and toilet. It wasn’t an issue during our stay, but could get busy at peak times, especially if lots of tents. That said, they were spotless every time we used them (Sarah the warden on duty!) and I really liked that the women’s had a small box of sanitary products in case you got caught out, a thoughtful touch.
Mindful you do get 5G but it’s temperamental, download anything you want to watch / listen too.
