Forget Me Not Country Park – well, forgetting this site on the outskirts of the village of Longhorsley, 15 minutes’ drive from Morpeth, is unlikely to happen. For not only is the place surrounded by spectacular countryside, but it also benefits from a pretty privileged position, about 25 minutes’ drive from both Northumberland National Park (to the west) and the Northumberland coast (to the east), where expansive sandy stretches like grassy dune-backed Druridge Bay Beach await exploration. Open throughout the year, Forget Me Not has spacious, hardstanding and fully serviced touring pitches, as well as large areas of lawn where you can set up the barbecue (for provisions, there’s a village shop in Longhorsley and a supermarket in Longframlington, 10 minutes’ drive). If keeping a watchful eye on your bangers and burgers sounds like too much work, the on-site Prince William Bar and Grill serves fish and chips and sandwiches, not forgetting desserts with lashings of custard; there are also a couple of restaurants within a 10-minute drive along the A697. Outdoor and indoor playgrounds (a miniature adventure course and a soft play area, respectively) make the site popular with families, who might also appreciate the parent-and-baby room and the launderette. A modern shower and toilet block includes facilities for disabled guests.

This is a highly recommended, immaculately clean and well-maintained site with friendly and helpful staff. Visitors praise the excellent, spotless toilet and shower blocks, and the quality of food and drink in the on-site bar and restaurant. Pitches are generally spacious, level, and well-serviced. While most guests enjoyed peace and quiet, a few mentioned noise from neighbours. Some motorhome owners experienced difficulties with waste disposal and water hook-ups. Liked What a beautiful park and so well kept. I really enjoyed my 2 nights stay there. The whole place showed attention to small details. Pristine facilities and beautiful flower beds. Very friendly staff.

Liked Really liked being close to the park and the clubhouse. We had a carvery there, food was lovely. Shame it was closed on the Monday and Tuesday as we would have went for food.

Staff were lovely and polite. Were very helpful. We had an incident where someone had damaged out awning and drove off at speed without checking we were okay and what damage they caused. Staff helped us get hold of them and also found what he did on your cctv.

Liked Lovely quiet site, nicely set out. Good onsite pub and children's play park.
Toilets very nice. All fully serviced pitches.
Visiting ice cream van.

Disliked Fully serviced point slightly awkward, in my instance the waste was having to run uphill which didn't work well for draining the water in the caravan sinks.
Quite allot of wasps at the play area

We booked this site specifically because it had a bar and grill on site, so we could have a drink or 2 and not drive.
Only when we got there (after paying) did we discover the bar and food was closed, and there was nowhere within walking distance or any taxis in the area, no local takeaways to deliver and the nearest pub food was ….. not great. You also can’t get your cash deposit for the key fob back before opening time in the morning if you planned on leaving early. Overall the site was very nice, we wouldn’t have booked if we knew the facilities would be closed though.

Step into the past at Beamish, the Living Museum of the North (45 minutes). This open-air museum recreates a range of settings typical of North-East England, such as a pit village at the turn of the 20th century, a 1940s farm complete with Land Girls, and a 1950s town.
