What customers say
This site offers spacious, level pitches and a friendly welcome. Staff are frequently praised for their helpfulness, with Callum in particular highlighted. Dog owners appreciate the space for their pets. While improvements are underway to the toilet and shower facilities, some guests found them unclean and in need of repair, with a lack of amenities like hand drying and secure locks. The on-site pub is permanently closed. Noise from the adjacent main road is a recurring concern.

Electric optional grass pitch
Liked On a clear day the views from the site must be lovely
Disliked The site was very disappointing. Quite mucky. The semi derelict pub at the entrance does not look good. The grass needs cutting, and maybe the warden could pick up filthy customers dog poo and bags of rubbish left by the hedge.
The ladies toilets had no working locks on the cubicles, dirty toilet paper on the floor and two hand basins with cold water. One basin was supported by a concrete block with a lorry axle stand on top ! !

Electric optional grass pitch
Liked The location and the warden was friendly the pitch was nice and the views.
Disliked We’re to start? The toilets were disgusting, women’s were worse my wife said no locks at all. The showers were warm but disgusting again. Nowhere to wash dishes, pub is derelict don’t think it’s been open in years, nothing worse on site like the advert says just grass and one road so no park or anything for kids. Some serious investment and help is needed for this site to be at an acceptable level. I really did want to like it but I couldn’t.

Suited our needs.
Electric optional grass pitch
Liked Location was great for visits to Berwick and Bamburgh...fitted our needs perfectly. Site manager, Callum, was friendly and attentive, going the extra mile for his guests. Plenty of hot water in showers, and shower block was warm.
Disliked Postcode given was inaccurate by more than a mile, and phone number was out of date, making the site difficult to find.

I don't have much to complain…
Electric optional grass pitch
Liked I don't have much to complain about. I know how difficult it is to keep the toilets and showers clean when there's a large and constantly changing number of people who don't always care about what they leave behind, but this is something that should definitely be improved in this nice place. The host is very engaging and very helpful. I will definitely recommend this place.

A good spot for a stop over. We would use the site again.
Electric optional grass pitch
Liked The welcome from Callum was friendly and helpful.
The pitch was fine... grass, close to the electric hook-up and fairly close to the fresh water supply.
In fairness, this was only our second night ever in a motorhome so we didn't look for grey water or toilet disposal.
Dog friendly with a large area to let her run on a long lead.
Disliked The toilet/shower facilities were fine but, as we found throughout our first ever trip away in a motorhome, like a good proportion of campsites, they were a little tired.
The toilets were OK but we opted to shower in the vehicle.

Basic amenities but friendly owners
Electric optional grass pitch
Liked Friendliness of owners. Flat pitch. Hot shower.
Disliked This was one of the cheapest in the area at £25 for non-electric grass pitch of a campervan. A sign said they have new owners and are remodelling. Owners were really friendly but the amenities here are not finished. The shower / toilet block was in need of repair and not clean. It had broken locks / taps etc and bags of cement and other building equipment left in there. Shower was hot.
The washing up area is still breeze blocks and not apparently being rushed to build. Chemical disposal a manhole in the ground which you need to pull off to access a hole. There are bins and a water tap near camping area. It's right next to a 60mph road, so there was quite a bit of traffic noise.
While I did manage to empty my loo, fill up water and get a shower (which are my basic requirements), I cannot say it was a pleasant experience. I do feel they should lower their prices and be upfront that they are renovating. There was only one other van there. If they charged £15, then people would pay this for the convenience of an overnight service and they could even charge £10 for vans to use the facilities without staying. The loos need a really good clean and tidy up. They do have hook-up for those who need it.
