Electric grass tent pitch

Liked: The site was lovely and relaxing, it was nice to have our own personal area with grass and trees separating it. We can’t wait to come back and see it when the trees have grown a bit more. The communication from the owners was great and friendly. The facilities were clean and it was lovely to see a kitchen with lots of pots etc in it. Not far from Whitby or Staithes. Lots of amenities in the local area too. Lovely to have WiFi on the site too

Electric grass tent pitch

Liked: Beautiful spot. Lovely facilities. The showers and kitchen were excellent. Little barrows to take your stuff to the pitch from your car. Also trees have been planted for privacy which will be amazing once they have grown in a little more.

Willow bell tent (five person)

Liked: What a lovely campsite! 🥰 Well-maintained and spotlessly clean. We stayed in the Willow Tipi , plenty enough room for the 5 of us! Cooking facilities available, came in handy as we was caught up in the heavy winds! Staff had everything we needed on hand. Garage within walking distance for extra supplies. Tents are spaced out really well too, with a fire pit and seating area provided. Good location for nearby attractions too! We headed to Scarbrough & Whitby during our stay, visited Beck Hole waterfall, and even found a carboot sale 5-10min drive up the road on Sunday! Kids enjoyed it despite the weather, and I look forward to returning.

Disliked: Only one shower/toilet block. Despite not being a busy campsite they always seemed to be in use! 🤣 Men/women blocks would be beneficial.

Circus gypsy caravan

Liked: Great location very quiet and easy to find. Its close by to local amenities and our gorgeous coastline. We loved our little glamping hut the site owners were so nice they allowed us to check in early for an additional £10 which was just perfect. The site is very clean.

Disliked: The pictures made the hut look bigger than it actually was but we still enjoyed our stay. We wished that there was a campers kitchen inside the hut and a kettle as its nice to cosy up with a hot chocolate on a night. There was a communal kitchen a short walk away from hut to use which was OK but it's not the same as cooking around your unit. Kitchen needs some washing up liquid and scrubbers leaving in there as there werent any. A campers kitchen and a kettle would really make a difference to this cute little site

Electric grass tent pitch

Liked: Was out very first camping experience , The campsite was set up perfectly, and the owners are so lovely , always on hand for anything you need . Little kitchen area is a god send esp Wjen we experienced high winds so the bbq food we bought we cooked in the little oven so it didn’t go to waste . Pitches are really big so even with a large tent there’s plenty of space for kids to play , plus a big field on the middle for them to run about in . Will definitely be booking to come back and would recommend to anyone .

Electric grass tent pitch

Liked: Small intimate site and facilities were clean and homely - nice to have a kitchen where you could use a kettle and cooking facilities if needed. Site had wifi which was essential as for some reason this region of North Yorkshire seems to have terrible phone signal/ internet without wifi! We stayed in our own tent (not glamping). The location was good for visiting the coast. Other guests were welcoming and good to be able to have fires / barbecues and no dogs. Kids could play in the central area. Nice calm site and nice to see the fairy lights of the glamping pitches. Nice atmosphere with the camp fires. The hosts were welcoming and friendly without being too imposing. Nice relaxed site and would stay again.

Disliked: Just 2 toilets and 2 showers which worked ok for a small number of people, but if the site expands then more will be needed.

Local attractions

There’s a whole lot of choice around here when it comes to walks and bike rides – and as the farm is on a public right of way, you can get started straight from the gate. Some of the top spots nearby include Blakey Ridge (20 minutes’ drive), Roseberry Topping (25 minutes) and the Hole of Horcum (half an hour). Not up for the exercise? Ride the North Yorkshire Moors Railway from Goathland (25 minutes). The national park stretches all the way to the coast, taking in seaside towns like Runswick Bay (10 minutes), Staithes (15 minutes) and Robin Hood’s Bay (half an hour). Saltburn-by-the-Sea (20 minutes) is another popular spot, with a lovely beach, a pier and a funicular railway to ride. The highlight for many, though, is a trip to Whitby (20 minutes), where you can stroll through the Old Town, climb the famed 199 Steps and visit the abbey, as well as spending time on the beach.
