What customers say
This is a quiet, spacious, and peaceful campsite with a strong emphasis on friendly and accommodating hosts, particularly Val. Facilities are basic but generally clean and well-maintained, with ongoing plans for upgrades including new toilet and shower blocks, and washing-up facilities. While road noise and limited phone signal are noted, the location is praised for its natural beauty and proximity to York. Some visitors highlight issues with the number and upkeep of facilities, and a few mention strictness regarding site rules.

Electric grass pitch
Liked Great for kids to run around and enjoy themselves. Toilets and shower block kept very clean and always stocked up with loo roll. Bins emptied regularly and Val was very helpful and friendly. A family member was staying in the huts and they were great will definitely try these for a night next time.
Disliked Road is a little noisy beside the camp sometimes but this didn’t stop us from getting a good night sleeps.

Liked Val and the family were wonderful, super friendly and couldn't do more for you. The site itself is basic but it immaculately clean and well-maintained
Disliked Not a dislike at all but more of a suggestion. I feel like the booking/location information would benefit from a what3words (or something to that effect). The postcode for the site took us to the correct road via sat-nav but we were still about 5 minutes away and had to call ahead for directions.

Perfect getaway
Cabin
Liked Everything! We love camping but very last minute booked the cabin for an easier get away, and that is absolutely what we had! Not to mention the comfiest bed in the world!
Another added bonus for us was the privacy you get with the cabin which is set away from the camping/caravan area. Val and her husband are great! My little boy loved how lovely they were.
Pleased with the toilets and that they weren’t portaloos. Honestly, cannot fault a single thing. We will definitely be back with family!
Disliked No phone signal which is absolutely not your fault!

Liked Lovely spacious site and Val the owner was so welcoming. Walked round the site several times to say hello and make sure everyone was ok and had everything they needed.
Disliked Not a dislike, but the only downfall was that there was only 2 showers for the whole site to use. However this wouldn’t stop us from returning.
