What customers say
This is a quiet, tidy site located conveniently for Whitby and Sandsend, with friendly and helpful staff. Pitches are well-sized and private, with water to each. While the site boasts lovely natural surroundings and a small play area, the toilet and shower facilities are described as dated and in need of modernisation. Some guests also noted a lack of washing-up facilities and a dated Elsan disposal point. WiFi is available but not strong.

Won't be staying again
Fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch (maximum 7 metres)
Liked The silence but you can still hear the A road
Disliked The toilets were from the 1970s very very outdated the pitches were on top of one another but spacious, we were given a option of two pitches no5 and no14 took no5 as no14 wasn't fit for purpose and shouldn't be classed as a pitch.
This is more a statics location no views of the coastline or countryside just the backsides of statics.
This was also supposed to have been adults only yet we had children running around the park for the three days we were staying.
I don't normally review but had to on this occasion and I feel like I am moaning and that's no me!

Burnt House Caravan Site - disappointing
Fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch (maximum 7 metres)
Liked Reasonably clean and tidy. Friendly and helpful site manager. Very quiet location.
Disliked The pitches are poorly designed and not level. The ground is too soft to hold the pegs to secure our awning, and kept coming out in the wind.
The waste water drains are raised up so that the waste water will not drain away. How ridiculous this is? A drain that cannot drain!
The toilet/shower blocks and chemical toilet waste disposal are too far away, as is the rubbish bins that have no recycling facilities!
Apart from a petrol/lservice station a few miles up the road there was nothing local to buy provisions from or anywhere to have a meal [The local pub was closed]. There was no information given to us about anything in the local area from the management. All other sites I have visited have given us a leaflet about what's available in the local area!
Furthermore, the site was advertised as adults only, but I did see children running around from the static caravans, and evidence from one of the seasonal pitches of toys and stuff. But, to be fair they was not at the site during our stay.
All in all, this is the worst site I have ever stayed at, and I will not be returning again.
However, if you like somewhere remote with bare minimum facilities, this could be the site for you.

Quiet site with room to improve
Fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch (maximum 7 metres)
Liked Lovely quiet site, with water to each pitch.
Disliked Tired dated toilets and showers, whilst clean they are urgently in need of bringing up to modern standards. No phone signal and sadly the WiFi was inadequate.

Good spot
Fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch (maximum 7 metres)
Liked Very peaceful place, pitches tarmac, gravel & grass so of a good size.
Whole site very tidy.
Small play area for the kids & place that had games, books & pool table.
Easy access to Whitby (bus stop at the end of the road). Sandsend 10 minutes drive.
Nice guy that meets you & shows you which spot is free.
Laundry facilities - I didn't use it but another couple there at same time did and said its all working.
Has WiFi but not very Strong.
Disliked No washing up area
Toilet & shower block dated, needs TLC.
Elsan disposal place not nice at all, very old and smelly.
