Electric gravel motorhome pitch (medium)

Liked: Children had the freedom to roam without ever being too far away from view, the alpacas, bunnies and stunning views which show new surprises as you walk around the site. Toilets and showers very clean and modern. Great campsite show with super helpful staff. The campsite is next door to Love Brownies brownie barn with stunning views and has lots of family friendly shortish walks to lovely locations in the Dales.

Disliked: Nothing really, we might book higher up the site next time to keep the evening sun a bit longer but that's not a dislike really!

Local attractions

If one morning you feel inspired to go strolling, there’s no need to pack up the car. The path to Simon's Seat (half an hour’s walk to the top) is barely a couple minutes' stroll from the site and has simply grand views of the Yorkshire Dales. Carry on rambling into the surrounding moors, where there’s a waterfall dubbed ‘the valley of desolation’. There’s not much desolation around, but there is a gorgeous waterfall and a pool to wade in. A short drive will get you to local villages or towns like Grassington (20 minutes' drive), which has art galleries, a cobbled market square and e-bike hire, and Skipton (20 minutes), which has a castle and heaps of eateries. Another good outing is the Stump Cross Caverns (10 minutes). Discovered by lead miners in the mid 1860s, the cave complex has a cinema and exhibits including prehistoric remains of wolverine and reindeer. The caverns have a hilltop walk, but if you’re still in the mood for more good walks, excellent trails include those around the half-mile-long limestone gorge at Troller's Gill (10 minutes) and Rylstone Cross (25 minutes).
