Orcaber Caravan and Camping Site

Liked: The camping field is a free-for-all and because I turned up relatively late on a glorious day, I thought I might have an issue.

It was very busy but I found some level space in a good spot to watch the sun set.

The toilet/shower facilities are great, as is the location. Staff are very friendly.

Although it was busy (warm May Saturday) everyone was respectfully quiet after sun down.

The pizzas looked good, although I didn't have one.

Disliked: No plugs for the washing up sinks but I understand why. Just bring a washing up bowl :)

Liked: For the moment we got there and arrived at reception it was beautiful such a lovely place with amazing views.

We used the toilets before checking in after our drive, they were lovely and clean plenty of lighting and adequate space. Also music was on which was different.

We then checked in reception which was fast and hassle free. In the reception was also a shop that offered everything you need that could have been forgot even if it was a bag of ice they had you covered.

We then drove around to our pod which was also clean and even had a picnic bench outside if you had no chairs.

They offered Saturday night take away which you could order online or at reception which was an amazing idea think everyone on the camp site placed an order. Then you was given a time slot for collection.

Liked: Everything - everything at the site appears new and spotlessly clean. Staff very helpful. Stayed in a pod which was excellent. Very friendly family site. Pizzas and shop and shop a bonus. Great area to explore we’ll be back.

Liked: Good location for Ingleborough, Austwick, Clapham by foot.
Walk to Ingleborough summit is about 14 miles.
Shower blocks are excellent.
Fire pits available with logs for sale.

Liked: The whole site from arriving to leaving was a fantastic experience.
The staff are so friendly & helpful.
The site is spacious, clean & flat.
The facilities on site are superb, even with the arrival of 100+ on the second night, the showers, toilets & wash up areas were in tip top condition.
50p coin required for the showers for a 10 minute slot, which were very good.
Toilet roll plentiful & very good quality unlike other sites.
In fact the facilities are without doubt the best we've used in all our years camping & caravanning, and we've used a lot over the years.
Pitches are very spacious & there are picnic benches freely available scattered around the site for you to use.
The Wifi is fantastic & never dropped for me even with the extra folk arriving for the weekend.
Pizzas, Burgers & Bacon Butties can be ordered via the site website & you collect at the site shop at your requested time slot (which was very reasonably priced & well stocked).
Fire pits & wood are available from a member of staff who rides round the site on his quad with trailer asking if you needed any for the night. £8 for a net of wood, fire pits are free.
The staff are available throughout the day & on call at night via mobile number & any unsociable behaviour / rowdiness is acted upon efficiently & quickly.
A football goal is available at one end of the central grassed area for the kids to have a kick about.
Surrounding views from the site are stunning & the local village of Clapham is well worth a visit & its about 40 minutes walk via the river walk just across the road from the site. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting the cows daily crossing the bridge whilst walking to & from the village.
Other walks & information can also be found in the on site information room as well as free use of a freezer facility for ice packs etc.
A real gem of a site & we will definitely return at our earliest convenience.

Disliked: Absolutely nothing to dislike whatsoever.

Liked: Very clean sites big pitches although it was very busy the toilets very very clean. Lovely views all round. Nice little river for the kids to play in not far from site.

Disliked: A big wait for food but a new computer system was blamed so it was understandable

Liked: Very clean and tidy site. The staff were very friendly.
Although it was fairly busy we had plenty of room, we weren’t hemmed in.

Liked: Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Well maintained camping area and great location for walking. The fire pits are free to hire (just pay for logs). Toilet and shower blocks were very good and cleaned regularly. Bacon butties 10/10 on a Sunday morning

Liked: First time back camping after a few years break and could not fault the place.
Everything you need is there, good shower facilities, shop, pizzas on a Saturday night and fire pits with everything you need can be hired. The staff there are really friendly and the location is beautiful.
Definitely would love to go back
