  • Adults-only site in the grounds of a 19th-century farmhouse
  • Secluded and with spectacular views
  • Pub a short walk away via a public footpath
An adults-only campsite near Scarborough? What a rare breed. Set on the grounds of a 19th-century farmhouse, Studley House Farm is a secluded caravan park just for grownups, who come here for superior views, a most deserved break, and proximity to the Yorkshire coast, Dalby Forest, Pickering, York, the North York Moors National Park… Pitches in an apple orchard sound jolly pip-pip too: those at Studley House Farm are a stroll from the cleanly-kept site amenities of hot showers, toilets, laundry room and chemical disposal point. A pub, the Grapes Inn, is a short walk away via the public footpath running beside the site. The farm is next to the village of Ebberston – do try the bakery – and has walks aplenty in the surrounds: use the site stile to get to the public footpath for perfect Yorkshire countryside walks with your pooch.

This peaceful, adults-only site in a pretty village is praised for its immaculate upkeep, spacious level pitches with EHU and water, and friendly, helpful owner. Facilities are consistently described as clean, though some guests noted they are minimal, with only one shower and limited toilet privacy. Electric gravel touring caravan pitch

Liked Loved everything about this stay there where 2 lady toilets with a sink in and 1 shower the same for the men’s it’s only a small site i don’t have to wait for the showers there was also a disabled toilet didn’t really look into that so not sure if there was a shower as well in it. There was a washing up sink a washer and dryer. The showers and sinks have taps no push buttons and in the shower there was a small stool as well as 2 coat handles and a little dish to up your soap and extras on. I also went to the toilets at night I didn’t need a torch as it was pretty lite up if at the bottom end of the field then May be but when you get near the toilets it’s lite up good

Electric gravel touring caravan pitch

Liked The site has lovely peaceful surroundings and spacious pitches. It is very well kept and the owner Andrew was very friendly and helpful. The pitches are level and fresh water was closed to hand.
The facilities were spotless.
It is very well situated for biking in Dalby forest and a ride up to robin hoods bay in the car took us about 45 minutes. Helmsley and a visit to the market on Friday is only a short car ride away. There is a pub just 5 mins up the road but we never got to try it this time.
We will definitely visit this lovely site again.

Electric gravel touring pitch

Liked Met on arrival by Andrew the owner of the site, shown personally to our pitch, one of 4 not on the main orchard site but with own water and electric . Plenty of lovely walks from the site for our 2 dogs and a pub within 1/2 mile we could walk to over the neighbouring field. The toilets and showers were located in converted containers and were well kept clean and perfectly adequate for our means , better than expected. All the other campers were very pleasant and we got on well with our neighbours. Andrew checked we were all Ok and was seen around and about talking to all the campers . Several campers were repeaters which speaks for itself. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Studley House Farm and will return to explore more of North Yorkshire ear the site as unable to complete everything g in 3 days !

From the manager: Hi Stephanie,

Thank you for the kind review, and I'm happy that you had a pleasant and relaxed stay with us.
I would just like to point out for others that read your comments, that the ladies toilet block is new this season and that there is now one shower in the Ladies' block and one shower in the Gentlemen's block. As you yourself noticed, the site is small and one shower in each block is all that is necessary.

Thanks again and we look forward to welcoming you both back in September.
Kind regards, Andrew.

Local attractions

Elsewhere, Studley House Farm is primely placed for quite a lot of North Yorkshire highlights, including trying your crafty hand at Ebberston's The Workshop to bring home a souvenir with a difference, or tackling golf, fishing and horse riding in the immediate area. Coastwards, Scarborough has quite a few grownup pursuits like Italian gardens, the Rotunda Museum, the Stephen Joseph Theatre and bagging fresh Yorkshire seafood in its fish market; Filey Brigg is a birdwatching and wildlife haven with hikes on the Cleveland Way, and Bridlington's birds – all 200,000 or so of them – can be found screeching their way around the RSPB reserve at Bempton Cliffs. Nearby Dalby Forest on the southern slopes of the North York Moors National Park is a Forestry Commission-run setting with acres' worth of bike rides and hikes as well as regular events. (The bike trails here range from easy to extreme to severe, so see what your legs can handle.) More rides and hikes as well as climbing, caving and weeks' worth more are in the rest of the national park to the north. And then to the market town of Pickering, a short drive from base and the home of Pickering Castle and the Beck Isle Museum as well as the starting point for the North Yorkshire Moors Railway on its exceedingly scenic 18-mile puff from here to Grosmont. A bit further afield, ancient and walled York is full of old sites, museums, historic winding streets and well-priced restaurants.
