What customers say
This is a peaceful, rural campsite perfect for nature lovers and those seeking tranquility. Visitors praise the stunning views, proximity to Dalby Forest for walking and cycling, and the warm welcome from friendly owners and their dogs. Facilities are described as basic but clean, with a paid shower service. Some guests note the remote location and narrow approach roads, and occasional issues with ground conditions in wet weather. The site is highly recommended for a relaxed getaway.

Liked Nice pleasent little site in the Yorkshire moors
Disliked There is only one way to get to the site and its a track especially with a 8ft wide tourer

From the manager: There are 3 routes to South Moor Farm.
From Thornton Le Dale Using Dalby Forest Drive, no charge for passing through. Tarmac Road mainly double width.
From Hackness via Langdale End, typical Narrow country road with passing places. You may encouter Lories and Tractors with trailers. Tarmac Road.
From Ebberston, NOT recommended. Narrow tarmac road with passing places used by lorries and tractots with trailers. Turns into a wider gravel road with potholes before reaching us.

Clean site but be wary of other drivers whilst driving through forest.
Electric grass touring pitch
Liked Clean toilet block and facilities with easy access to the pitches.
Disliked Toilet block wasn't lit up sufficiently, why pay for showers plus there was only one!
Limited connect to WiFi and phone.
Entrance to the site needs to be bigger as it's very easy to drive past and them limited opportunities to turn around with a caravan

From the manager: We had a power cut for about 6 hours. So toilet lights not working!
We have two showers, one in Ladies, one in Gents.
£1 for 5 minutes in shower. We could make them free but would have to increase pitch fees.
Rural North Yorkshire phone and internet a bonus when it works. Does not work if there is no power.
The entrance to the site is 24 feet wide, drive slowly and watch out for wildlife crossing road,
My family and I would highly recommend a stay at South Moore Farm.
Non-electric grass touring pitch
Liked Everything, Mr Robert was a very good host. We had a family emergency and had to cut our stay short, he was very understanding and even refunded us the reaming days.

Beautiful, spacious and quiet
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked There is a lot of space and the scenery is beautiful! There are a lot of sporty activities nearby. It was really great! We would love to come back.
Disliked We did not know we had to pay for the shower, but it was not a big deal. If you know it you can prepare for it by stopping by at an ATM ;).

From the manager: The charge for the shower is included in the site details on pitchup. We have a supply of £1 coins and can change notes ot take a card payment.
Family favourite.
Non-electric grass touring pitch
Liked Absolutely love this site - always a warm welcome. We took our 6 year old Jack Russell for the first time and she had the time of her life. Plenty of walks in the forest and even played with the sire dogs (she doesn't normally like other dogs lol) absolutely recommend.
Disliked Nothing I really dislike about this site it's a firm favourite in our converted campervan.
