Little Seed Field: Rural views

General

  • Glamping site on a family farm 15 minutes from Pateley Bridge
  • In the Yorkshire Dales with views over the Nidderdale Valley
  • Heated kitchen and bathroom facilities

You’d be forgiven for not spotting your cabin the first time you take a wander around Little Seed Field. And if that happens, the owners (the fourth generation of a family farming business) may well be chuffed to hear they’ve succeeded in their mission to slot their glamping units seamlessly into the natural landscaping.

To aid the integration of guests and resident creatures, cabins have been scattered in secluded spots between the trees, boulders and natural grasses, with gorgeous views over the Nidderdale Valley. When the sun’s gone down, angle your gaze upwards as the remote rural location means some fably starry skies, clouds permitting.

You’ll be bedding down in a smart wooden cabin, set up with double and bunk beds and kitted out with insulation and a woodburning stove to keep things cosy should the North Yorkshire winds blow. Each one has access to a barbecue for fine days, and there’s a small kitchenette (with toaster, kettle and microwave) for prepping meals on dingier days. Bathroom facilities are alongside the kitchen in the centrally heated amenities block.

When it’s time to head out from this rural retreat, you’ll have plenty of options: roam around the surrounding Yorkshire Dales, or get in the car for 20 minutes or so to visit a theme park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site or the city attractions of Ripon (also the best place to stock up on foodie supplies for back at base).

The cabins were easy to locate with a very informative email sent with information the day before arriving. The cabin was lit with lovely fairy lights so not to disturb the wildlife and were lovely and cosy once the fire was going! Our point of contact Joanne was quick and helpful with any questions or requests and even put a lovely birthday banner up for my partner. The farm was lovely and we even got a chance to see some of the cows which was cool. There's lovely scenery all around and although it seems like you're in the middle of no where, you're not too far from Ripon Town and only about 10 minutes from a fantastic fish and chip shop! The website they have is amazing for figuring out where to go and what to do. Will definitely be coming back for another stay!!

Lovely wooden cabins with great views. The beds were so comfortable and good pillows. Definitely better than some hotels we have stayed in.
The facilities clean and well kept.
    Really enjoyed our stay.
Just could do with a kettle in each cabin to make a hot cup of tea.
Also lovely friendly black dog on the farm 💕

Thank you for leaving us a review, it's great to hear that you enjoyed your stay. We are currently looking to find the best kettle for the cabins, as they are a low wattage we need to find a kettle that does not blow the fuses. Great feedback, thank you.

Pods were lovely, facilities clean. Everything as described, really peaceful and quiet and a great place to chill. The pond was really nice, lots of wildlife and would be a good place to have a picnic - although make sure you have insect repellent. We were a couple on a short break but it would a great place for keen walkers. You do need to drive to visit nearby activities/pubs for food etc (the pub in walking distance was closed when we stayed) but a good trade off for the location. Great for campers (who don't want the hassle for a short break) and enough amenities for non campers to still enjoy. Everything booked and communicated remotely but so well organised no problems at all. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent location, the cabin was nice and snug with the log burner. The views where amazing we even saw deer in the morning grazing outside our cabin.
Lots of lovely walks and the location was nice and quiet.

One positive for us very limited phone signal and no WIFI just what we wanted.

Local attractions

Get your hiking boots on and venture out into the Yorkshire Dales for a walk – there are of course heaps of paths to select from. If you can’t bear to select, perhaps heed the locals' advice and head to one of the owners’ suggested spots: Gouthwaite Reservoir, Brimham Rocks and Coldstones Cut (Yorkshire’s biggest and highest public artwork, no less) are all within a 20-minute drive.

If you’ve an eye for a historic attraction or two, you’ll most likely want to be heading to the UNESCO World Heritage Site at Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Water Gardens, 20 minutes’ drive away, and/or taking a walk around the characterful streets of Ripon (20 minutes) or Harrogate (half an hour). And even nippers who claim not to be into all this old stuff may just approve of a trip to Pateley Bridge, 15 minutes away, and the Oldest Sweet Shop in the World.

Kids who’ve been on good behaviour may find themselves rewarded with a trip to Lightwater Valley theme park; grownups who’ve managed the same might fancy a tour of the Black Sheep Brewery. Both are about 20 minutes away by car.
