What customers say
This is a highly-rated, friendly campsite with spacious pitches and excellent, clean facilities including heated shower blocks and a well-regarded on-site cafe. Its rural location offers beautiful views and convenient access to local villages and attractions. While most guests had a positive experience, some noted occasional issues with facility capacity during peak times and occasional off-site noise.

Great campsite with very good facilities in an ideal location
Non-electric grass pitch
Liked The layout, plenty of locations to pick from and all close enough to the facilities and the cafe.
The campsite is quite picturesque and although close to a road in some areas, it's not a busy road and won't keep you awake.
Great kitchen, washing up and shower/toilet facilities with a farmyard feel/aesthetic. Clean enough and the showers were nice and warm at any time.
We were greeted by a lovely guy who explained everything, including nearest pubs and some walks, nice and laid back but professional.
Disliked The corrugated metal in the toilets/showers is very loud when closing and we could hear it from the tent (maybe add some rubber to the doors to soften?) and the frames hold water in the bottom which looks to go rotten, not a big deal, just a bit of feedback!

Liked Staff were really friendly. Quiet, Not rule based.
An excellent balance of glamping huts, motor homes and tents. Sometimes it can feel like people staying in tents are undervalued. We didn't feel that at all.

A fantasic stay which we all enjoyed very much
Electric grass pitch
Liked Loved it all. Rustic, beautiful site and countryside. You can tell the owners are campers.... everything has been thought of....freezers/fridges/coffee/cafe/hot tubs/toilets & showers clean and very very friendly staff. The ladies in the cafe were brilliant and I met the owners son (I think) most helpful. We will be back.

Non-electric grass pitch
Liked Stayed here with my husband and 3 children for 3 nights tuesday to friday. We loved it, plenty of room to pitch up and really impressed with the facilities. We used the little kitchen area to charge our phones abd the showers were lovely and hot. We rented a fire pit for £15 and that kept us lovely and cosy at night. We went out to lightwater valley one day and had a few drinks along the local. Will definitely be coming back to try the hot tubs.

Nice campsite but be prepared to drive
Non-electric grass pitch
Liked Clean site, cafe was convenient, friendly guests, lots to do nearby
Disliked Not the campsites fault but local pub wasn't friendly, local shop was closed, chippy is only open at weekends so we did have to drive out to get food.

From the manager: Thanks for the feedback about “us” but what’s around the site / locally is beyond our control.
Leaving a relatively low score because of this is a little unfair as it reduces our overall ratings

This site is a cracking place for all campers
Electric grass pitch
Liked Everything! Great open pitches with lots of space, water taps as easy to reach as the electricity and the best shower & toilet block. The only place we went to where it was easy to get hot water to wash up too. Views are amazing, especially at night where the sky was full of stars. My grandson lay on the grass looking up for ages & his only issue was that he forgot his telescope! Play area for the kids, grassed area to walk the dogs, easy walk into the village which has a fab butchers (pub too but we went in the morning). Site also has a lovely cafe and the owner is a real gent. Staff are polite & helpful. Great site
