Cherry Tree Park: Spacious pitches

General

  • Well-maintained dog-friendly site in the North Yorkshire countryside
  • A 20-minute drive to the North York Moors; 50 minutes to the coast
  • Access to cycling and walking routes; pub and shops nearby

Pack your walking boots, gather your cycling gear and don’t forget your binoculars for the family-friendly Cherry Tree Park. Sitting cosily between the Howardian Hills and the North York Moors, this well-maintained family-friendly site is well-based for walks and cycling through moors, forests and past historic halls and castles nearby… simply put, the hardest task will be plotting out your route, as this level-grounded base is a peaceful walker’s paradise.

If you can’t bear to leave your dog behind, you’re in luck, as dogs and pets are welcome on site. Take full advantage of the local footpaths - handily, there are several cycling and walking routes nearby (plus, more adventurous tracks between the trunks at Dalby Forest, 45 minutes’ drive).

And handily, the coast is also within reach. So, if you have a taste for the pleasures of seaside (within 50 minutes’ drive), you can dedicate a day to the beach and harboursides.

At the end of the day, freshen up nicely using the toilet and shower block on site (there's an extra water point on hand if you need it). You’ll surely want to replenish your food stores too. If so, there’s a fish and chip shop, an Indian restaurant and a pub within ten minutes’ walk. And for anything else you need, the market towns of Helmsley and Kirkbymoorside have more amenities within five minutes’ drive.

Please note

A charge of £1.00 applies for the use of the shower.

Please note that the toilet/shower facilities are unisex.

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

At least one of the party members must be aged 18 or over.

The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act (i.e. Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro).

Very peaceful and well spaced campsite. On arrival was greeted with a warm welcome and very accommodating when it transpired my EHC. May not be long enough owners offered to loan us two for our stay, the campsite was easy to find and well sign posted, it’s positioning was perfect for local amenities.

    Disliked:

Only 2 showers and 2 toilets on the sight. If site had have been busier it may have been slightly awkward on occasions

Loved the scenery and how on a clear night we could sit and watch the stars toilet block was clean owner was very polite and I liked how he told me about nearby shop and takeaway
    Decent sized pitches
    Quite site on a night
    Level pitches
Basic site but that’s what we wanted
Nice nearby park (no dogs allowed as it’s a cricket ground)
Liked how they had a port a loo with a proper toilet in in the first field (no light)
Only traffic noise we heard was the odd tractor which little one loved to see
Loved how u could park car at tent
Liked the late departure time especially when u have young child

    Disliked:

Another camper letting a dog of lead when it states to keep them on and it pooping in middle of field we’re children was playing which caused a argument between another camper making the owner aware about it doing so and it caused raised voices in the middle of the camping field in front of children (not the owners fault though as they have signs up at the entrance to camping field! It’s just campers not following rules)

Some campers unaware we’re there pitch stops and other pitches start

I Did feel like I was been a little rude cutting through the hedge (we’re owner told me to) and walking behind someone’s tent to get to the toilet/washing up block (but I’m not sure if owner informed them people would be cutting through)
