View south from the caravan

General

  • Single static on a working farm: have the site to yourself
  • Own enclosed parking and garden area
  • Views across the site garden and the Vale of York beyond

Cosy stays, fab views, warm welcomes and quiet private hols are all guaranteed at Helmsley's Beadlam Rigg: there's only one static caravan on the entire site, so no need to share the place with anyone else. And it's in the North York Moors National Park too – you'll most likely think this site is a win and then yet another win.

The static has its own enclosed parking and garden area – really, you won't have to share any of your hol with anyone else – and is set adjacent to the farmyard with those fab views stretching south across the site garden and the Vale of York beyond. It's a modern, spacious and well-insulated caravan with central heating, double glazing and free wifi, sleeping up to six.

The shops and eating establishments of Helmsley are a short drive away, but if you fancy being organised, sort supermarket deliveries straight to your static: a good-sized fridge and freezer are inside for stashing all your eats.

Please note

The site caters for families (immediate members) and couples only - bookings from all other forms of groups are not accepted.

Dogs are not allowed in the accommodation units.

Commercial vehicles (vehicles used for work-related purposes, carrying goods or fare-paying passengers) and sign-written vehicles are not permitted on site.

No hen/stag parties permitted via Pitchup.com.

Single-sex bookings of 4 or more people (couples and immediate family members excepted) are not permitted via Pitchup.com.

Guests must bring their own duvets, pillows, sheets and towels when staying in rental accommodation. You will not be allowed to stay if you do not bring these items.

    Weather lol

From the manager...

Thank you for your comments and I am that you enjoyed your stay in spite of the weather.

With regard to being scored 3/5 for activities I think this is a little unfair. We do not market ourselves as being anything different to what we are. We are located in a quiet setting (other than the farm traffic) with no passing traffic and we are surrounded by open countryside with miles of walks and bike rides to enjoy the National Park setting. At the caravan there is a TV & DVD player and free access to WiFi and a small garden area to play in. If you required something more may I suggest that you consider this at the time of booking.
People with children generally love the fact that we are only around 45 mins from numerous activities in the area to provide a wide variety of days out such as visits to York and the Coast, but there is so much more to see an do within Helmsley and Ryedale too. The website has a wealth of information on it in terms of what there is to see and do in the area as well as mapped out walks/cycle routes which can be enjoyed too.

We had a lovely time at the caravan, we stayed for a weekend, 4 kids and 2 adults. The caravan was lovely and clean, well looked after and perfect to get away from everything. I had lots of communication in plenty of time with Ailsa who sorted short notice bed linen for us and was very accommodating in letting us stay a little later for check out. It was lovely being on the farm, hearing the cattle, I'm sure if the weather had been better we would have ventured out to meet them more! Perfect location for us, next time we hope the weather is better! A side note the Wifi was a good connection for us to use in the evening to watch netflix on tablets etc. Zero complaints from us!

Thank you for a lovely stay.

From the manager...

Thank you for your comments and I am glad to hear that you have said that you would stay again, however as I advised at checking in, please feel free to alter the heating as you require or advise me if you need help. Whilst I pre-programmed it before you arrived, its hard to tell how hot people like to have it and I can't do anything about this unless I know.

Local attractions

In the North York Moors National Park, half an hour from Dalby Forest, an hour from York and the Yorkshire coast at Scarborough and Whitby... this caravan is in a crackingly convenient location. North Yorkshire market towns like Pickering and Kirkbymoorside are also within easy driving distance.

As it's the North York Moors, opportunities are all around to go walking, cycling or horse riding in the surrounds: Helmsley, Kirkmoorbyside and Pickering as well as Malton are in the Ryedale area of North Yorkshire, known for its dales, hills and moor, ancient heritage going back to the seventh century (looking at you, Rievaulx Abbey), walks along the Cleveland Way and the Wolds Way, and many traditional markets.

Scarborough, Whitby, Filey, Bridlington and the rest of the Yorkshire coast can be reached about an hour from Beadlam Rigg. As well as the usual seaside shenanigans, take time to go birdwatching, fossil hunting, historic house hunting and on nights out in the area's pubs and restaurants.
