General

  • 50-acre park with a pub overlooking a pool and playground
  • Excellent views and immaculately-maintained grounds
  • On-site 18-hole golf course, helipad, spa and cinema

Oh, you'll be all in a whirl with a stay here. Not only does Rudding Holiday Park have a helipad for those who might like to pretend they’re Bond, James Bond, but its setting in the grounds of Rudding Park Hotel means you’ll be having a hol in the lap of luxury – even if you’re only bringing your natty old tent.

The grounds of this 50-acre park are whirly special, with a heated outdoor pool (charge applies), playground for little flyers, and the Deer House pub; cleverly, the pub overlooks both the pool and the playground, and has a games room inside for competitive and/or rainy days. When having a wander, there are gorgeous gardens and woodland, lush views and immaculately-maintained grounds: Rudding Holiday Park is a previous winner of the AA Best Campsite in Britain award and the friendly team keep facilities to the highest standards.

Park guests are welcome to hover around the hotel facilities too when landing at Rudding: there’s a spa, smart Clocktower restaurant with terrace and conservatory, and – rather fab – a private 14-seat cinema to hire for parties or just because. Those seeking (whirly) birdies can take their teeing-off pick from the on-site 18-hole golf course, Repton Short Course, or golf driving range and academy.

When taking flight off site, Rudding Holiday Park is minutes away from the A1 motorway to get to most of Yorkshire’s highlights, and it’s only two and a half miles from hanging out in Harrogate. Get to the chopper…

Please note

Commercial vehicles (vehicles used for work-related purposes, carrying goods or fare-paying passengers) and sign-written vehicles are not permitted on site.

All: access to the swimming pool is not included in the rate and is charged £4.75 per person per 90-minute session.

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Single-sex bookings of 3 or more people (couples and immediate family members excepted) are not permitted via Pitchup.com.

The outdoor swimming pool is open between 25/05 and 31/08 (subject to weather conditions).

The holiday park advatise family pub on site this was closed as was the shop. They should state this. Realistically we paid 25 💷 to use there electric, we could use the hotel bar but it was quite posh and not really the place to walk in when we had to walk through mud to get to it, A bit disappointed

From the manager...

Dear Guest
We were saddened to read that you were disappointed by your visit especially as we take great care to ensure the opening times for the Holiday Park Shop and Deer House are displayed on our website.
Our Holiday Park Shop is operated by a third party with seasonal opening from March to November each year. Our Deer House pub is also seasonal, and I have checked our website and it does advise "Deer House Family Pub is open from 1 March through to mid November. The opening times are dependent on the time of year". It hardly makes good business sense to open for one family, for one night, especially when we can offer you three other eateries on the same site - did you try any of them?.
Realistically your pitch should have been £37.00 as we had upgraded you to a hard standing pitch so you actually had water, waste and electric, not bad for the £21.72 you paid.
We look forward to welcoming you back and if you come in peak season you'll see quite a transformation.
Have a happy christimas

Very good site, certainly worth a re visit, especially in low season. 24/11/2018

Well laid out site. Very friendly and helpful staff. Close proximity to bus stop made getting out and about without the car very easy.

    Disliked:

Slight confusion about opening and closing of toilet blocks. We also found the 11 am departure time unusual. In our experience Noon is the norm, although this didn't seem to be strictly adhered to (maybe because it was low season).
Our pitch was not very level.

By train and plane
Rudding Park has excellent communication by rail and air. Harrogate train station is less than three miles away and Leeds Bradford Airport is a 30 minute drive from the park.

Helicopter
Rudding Park has its own helipad within easy walking distance of the hotel. Non residents may also use the hotel’s helicopter landing facilities by prior arrangement, subject to a small fee.

Local attractions

York, Leeds and Harrogate are all easily accessed from Rudding, as well as smaller settlements like Malham, Knaresborough and Ripon with its ancient cathedral and less ancient racecourse. The Yorkshire Dales National Park is to the west and the North York Moors to the north east for active options like caving, boating, climbing and horse riding.

Visitors to North Yorkshire will find historical sites and museums of all flavours at every turn: a few of the eclectic options on offer museum-wise include the Eden Camp Museum in Maldon for a noisily realistic look at World War II, and the award-winning Thackray Medical Museum in Leeds, taking the wide-eyed visitor back through the history of medicine.

If you’ve decided on a truly relaxing holiday and don’t want to move more than a few miles from your pitch, the village nearest to Rudding Holiday Park, Follifoot, is within strolling distance and has a horse-riding centre for all abilities as well as a couple of decent pubs in the Harewood Arms and Radcliffe Arms.

Must see

  • RHS Garden Harlow Carr (3.2 miles)
  • Harewood House (5.7 miles)
  • Fountains Abbey (10.6 miles)
