Wolds Walk Glamping: Pods on site

General

  • Peaceful glamping retreat on a working farm in North Yorkshire
  • On the Yorkshire Wolds Way, half an hour's drive from Scarborough
  • Ensuite pods with well-equipped kitchen, TV and underfloor heating

Look at the views… Seriously. Look at the views. This smashing glampsite is up on the brow of a hill right by the Yorkshire Wolds Walk Way – frankly, the views really couldn’t be finer. The aptly named Wolds Walk Glamping is on a rural farm less than a mile from the village of East Heslerton, and within walking distance of a pub (as long as you have some walking left in your legs after a day's hike, that is).

Should you not have any walking left in those legs, it's hardly a hardship to stick around on site and settle down with a drink by your fairy light-decked pod while waiting for the stars to come out overhead (as they do rather impressively in this area of low light pollution). Each pod has its own stargazing chart so you'll know what to look out for, and a firepit/barbecue (with a bag of logs supplied) to keep you warm as you look upwards.

Beers can be kept chilled in the pod's fridge, and meals or snacks knocked up in the microwave; there's also a kettle and toaster to sort your breakfast needs. If you'd rather a cosy night in, that's sorted too: the pod has underfloor heating, a Freeview TV and wifi (plus comfy sleeping space to retreat to, of course).

All refreshed and ready for more activity? There are of course plenty of places to take a walk nearby (fab news for dogs, who are welcome to join you), such as the long-distance Cleveland Way, 13 miles away on the spectacular North Yorkshire coastline. Speaking of coastline, you may like to take a day out in Scarborough (half an hour's drive away); back inland it's a 20-minute drive to Malton for a mooch around the market town.

Please note

No cars/motorbikes by the pitch/unit. All cars must be parked in the designated area.

The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act (i.e. Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro) and/or any of the following: Staffordshire bull terrier, American Staffordshire terrier, Rottweiler, any Mastiff or Tosa.

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Commercial vehicles (vehicles used for work-related purposes, carrying goods or fare-paying passengers) and sign-written vehicles are not permitted on site.

No hen/stag parties permitted via Pitchup.com.

Owing to government regulations, groups of 6 or more people are not permitted.

Minimum spacing of 15 metres between pitches.

The site caters for families (immediate members) and couples only - bookings from all other forms of groups are not accepted.

Everything about this place is relaxing and good quality. The pod was furnished tastefully and well equipped for meals and storage. The view is breathtaking and the sound of birds surrounds you. A guest book is provided with activities and eateries listed and the owner is on site but leaves you entirely alone unless you need assistance.

Lovely pod, cleanest I've ever stayed in. Could not fault it at all. Bed was nice and comfy, nice little tv and underfloor heating. Nice little fenced off veranda which meant I didn't have to worry about my little dog running off.
Views were amazing. Would definitely recommend it.

    Disliked:

Draft blowing in thru the front door seals, which made it a bit chilly sat on the sofa. Other then that can't fault it.

Lovely peaceful location, if you want peace and tranquil this is the place! Excellent accommodation, very clean and everything catered for. Local for visiting Filey, Scarborough and Whitby bay! Owners were onsite but left us to entertain ourselves! Visited a few places and Olivers Mount War memorial is a good site to overlook Scarborough beach. All snug and cosy as the weather was a bit chilly for us. Excellent wifi connection. Enough open space if the weather is on your side! Lovely fire pit available and BBQ should you require.

First impression was lovely. Opened the farm gate and drove up the hill through all the newly born lambs.
The pod was immaculate. We had a double bed. Our 8 year old son had bunk beds. The kitchen area had everything we needed.
We had a beautiful walk along the hills one day with gorgeous views. The next day we drove to Scarborough which was 25 mins away. Did not see the owners at all. Left us to it. No issues whatsoever. Would love to go back with warmer weather later in the year

Absolutely everything about this place was brilliant. Clean, well equipped pods. Our host Paula was incredibly helpful and friendly. The surrounding area is beautiful, tucked away on a quiet hill with spectacular views but close enough to do plenty of exploring. We made great use of the fire pit toasting marshmallows. Perfection. Can’t wait to visit again.
