Electric grass touring pitch

Liked: The onsite chip shop was very nice. The touring pitches were well kept and big, loads of room for the van, awning and toilet. Wash facilities are clean and tidy.

Disliked: The check in/out times should be looked at. Cannot get on until 14:00 so by the time you get set up most of the day is gone. Then you have to be off for 10:00. I don’t see why there needs to be 4 hours between. Why not leave for 11:00 and the next guests check in for 12:00? Also, despite being right next to the beach you can’t access it because the road and any paths have eroded away and collapsed. The site is definitely for families with children, not pets. Cannot go into bar/restaurant with dogs which is a negative for us but not the sites fault. We should have looked in more detail but just be aware if you have dogs.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked: The campsite it self was good and so was the reception but the touring facilities need major improvement as they are in very poor condition, need updating by way of washing up area as was none and privacy in the toilets as lacking in door locks etc. Would not return and for a park Dean site I am very unhappy.

Disliked: See above.

Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: Good spaced pitches Loads to do on site We did find a way down to the beach if you don’t mind some man made steps Food was nice just pricey

Disliked: Toilets and showers need to be cleaned more often - they were awful. Noise is not kept to a minimum after 10pm and no one cares WiFi doesn’t work no matter where you are

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked: Entertainment was fun.

Disliked: Prices were ridiculous. For a small pizza it cost £17 and drinks were £6.59 a pint. We spent more in 2 days than we did going somewhere else for 7. Pool was very small and too busy for younger children.

Local attractions

The East and North Yorkshire coast is most visitors’ first stop, from the gannets gabbing at Flamborough Head and Bempton Cliffs to the seaside shenanigans and surfing of Scarborough. If it’s raining, take the kids to Terror Tower: its three floors’ worthy of grisly special effects should silence even the most horrifying sprog. Flit to fab Filey for five miles of beach, its funfair and the start of the Cleveland Way, and nearby Bridlington for the Bird of Prey and Animal Park and Bondville Model Village. Further along the coast, Goths and others love lovely Whitby; have fish and chips at the Magpie café after an afternoon seeing Whitby Abbey and the replica of HMS Endeavour. Inland yields loads to do too, with the North York Moors and Yorkshire Dales National Park both within driving distance; as it’s Yorkshire, you’ll find stately pads, historic houses and museums of all bents easily accessible too. A good option for a city day trip is lovely York, about an hour’s drive away.
